Remember LT is Daks blind side as I said try Smith in the SD game with Rush or Grier whoever as a target . Try Alarcon . The thought that 77 goes a season without periods of down time not realistic . Josh Ball might be better suited for back up RT .
Yes, agreed.

To be fair, I have not watched the game yet. I recorded it and plan on watching it later today. My question is did Alarcón play at Left Guard or Left Tackle yesterday? Whichever position he played, I hear he allowed 0 pressures on the QB. Since he is taller than Tyler Smith, I would try Alarcón at Left Tackle while keeping Tyler Smith at Left Guard. Alarcón played strictly Left Tackle in Mexico during his Mexican college league days.

It is sad when a first time head coach in his first game has his team better prepared than a veteran coach with a playoff team from a year ago.
Only thing i will say is first time coaches probably try a lot harder to win these games than vets.

If they don't, everyone starts talking.

Also, you have a case like Steve Spurrier where he was game planning and using his whole playbook to go 4-0 in preseason only to be destroyed in the regular season.

We need some new faces in the QB room. Why cant we sign a vet backup with some starting experience?

From what I saw it wasn’t a jail break at the QB and the running game was fair . It’s hard to judge much game one but sure try Alarcon at LT starting next week . Have to have a plan to fill in for 77.

There could be a bit of that, but it doesn't explain the lack of preparedness our team displayed. Josh Ball was an embarrassment. Nashown Wright and Joseph got picked on by backup QBs and backup WR's. Cooper Rush afraid to throw it more than 5 yards downfield.

The only thing that looked good was the RB's, a couple of the WR's were decent, and the DL was pretty solid. Outside of that, not much to look at positively.

Haven't been able to see the game yet, but I can say I'm disappointed most to have seen 17 penalties, when cleaning that up was supposed to be a priority.
Well for this game ignore the penaltys, bkups, and some bad refs.

That would be awesome if he stepped up; however, he played against 4th string defensive players.

Think about what the Broncos 4th string OTs faced as compared to the OTs that started the game...

Dante Fowler. Veteran pass rusher with 11.5 sacks when he was 100% healthy for a season. 3rd overall pick when drafted.

Mike Tafua. Rookie udfa.

I would be OK starting Big Mex in the next game to see what happens.

Note: Supermex is already taken. Golfer Lee Trevino.

Note 2: Trevino was one of the great personalities in sports history.

Agree on the 4th point..he beat his competition lets see what he can do against the next step up competition next pre season game.

I know Alarcon has been something of a joke in this forum, but if he plays well then give him a chance. Maybe he is a stud who just lacked reps at this level. I am willing to give everyone a chance to win a starting job. Just go out there and make good things happen.

“with shaky kickers who need to prove themselves”

exactly. I didn’t understand this. I was hoping for a couple of kicks each.
Offense needed to move the bal to-get close , which they didnt until late with Dinucci and his side winders , LOL.

If it hadn't been for the 17 penalties, we would have had close to 450 yards of total offense.
