Winning with the backup might not be "normal" but it's not completely unprecedented. By the way, Tom Brady was the backup in 2001... so HE went 11-4 as a backup.. Just as Kurt Warner was the backup in 1999 and Dak was technically the backup in 2016.

Trent Dilfer once made an interesting statement about winning the Super Bowl with the Ravens......as he put it, he was smart enough to know his defense was one of the best in the league. His job was to play smart, not lose games.

The point remains.. good teams can win with the backup QB.. They change the gameplan a little and lean on another part of the team and still manage to win.. Despite what the mediots tried to tell you coming into this season, the Cowboys are a good team with a good coaching staff.. so I am not surprised that they can win with the backup QB.. Nor should anyone else be. Now I WILL be surprised if they can beat the Rams or Philly with the backup QB. I don't know that the defense can continue holding teams under 20 points and those defenses probably can contain the current version of our offense. We shall see.
