Plenty of football to play, but the path to get to the Super Bowl looks to be settling in:

Wild card: at Tampa
Divisional: at Philly
NFC Championship: at San Fran

That's how they're probably going to have to do it.

I just dont see any losses for Philly to give us a chance to catch them, and I don't see Minnesota or San Fran losing in the wild card round for Dallas to avoid Philly in the second round.

Tough sledding ahead. Dallas is good enough to have a chance, but it's going to be a steep climb.

If I had to pick a favorite come playoff time, it would be the 49ers.

The thing about the playoffs, which are still not guaranteed, is you have to bring your A game every week. There is no winning a sloppy game like they did against the Giants. There is no playing flat like they did against the Packers and Bucs.

One thing that worries me is the return of Tyron Smith. If he plays LT and they move Tyler inside to LG, will it upset the continuity the OL has? If Tyron does not return in time to give Tyler a chance to plays some LG in a real game, I would be concerned the change in a playoff game could be exploited by the other team.

Lot of football to be played yet. The NFCS is up for grabs. Last place N.O. can still win that division. There's a chance TB or SF doesn't even make the playoffs. Niners only have a 1 game lead over Seahawks so that could still go either way. North is pretty much over and we can still catch the Eagles.

The playoff picture is a hot mess right now and that's a great thing.

The odds of the Eagles losing another game (plus the game with the Cowboys) is pretty good. The real question is IF that happens, can the Cowboys run the table on the remaining games?

Single games a tough to predict. Determining wins and losses for games where the opponents have not been determined seems like a fool’s errand

It really isn't a mess.

There are 4 teams that matter. Philly, Dallas, San Fran, and maybe Minnesota. The rest are pretenders.

This is what we should avoid….

Hopefully someone else wins the NFCS cause I do not trust this team against the Bucs. At all. I can see us taking on any other team from that divison but the Bucs. Our team gets weak in the knees for Brady and Rodgers.

I don’t see us winning the division. Hurts and the run game in Philly just can’t be stopped. Only teams that can possibly take them down are us, Giants (who they play twice), and maybe the Titans but I haven’t seen enough from any of those teams to believe they can take them down. Who knows though.

San Fran needs to be avoided at all costs. San Fran has the best odds in the conference IMO. Top defense, fresh run game. They are a stronger version of Philly, and again, they always demolish us. I’m hoping another team can take them down.

I wouldn’t want to play Philly for a 3rd time in a season.

The biggest chink in the armor for the 49ers is a big one..... Jimmy G. You pressure him and he looks like the guy they wanted to get rid of in camp. And one thing Dallas does great is rush and pressure the QB. They don't have to worry about his running So it is not an automatic win for them.

Only thing that is more clear are the teams that will be in the playoffs.

in no order.
Dallas, Philly, SF, Minnesota and pretty good chance, NYG, Washington (though I think one of these teams may miss out)
Then you have some winner of the NFCS, for now TB, but even Carolina has a shot there.
Last WC probably going to Seattle.

So only 4 teams pretty much have a lock. And a chance you flip SF & Seattle for the NFCW.

I can see Philly losing one, possibly both, of the NY games. My gut is they'll split. If Fields is back, I think its possible they could lose there as well.

I was really hoping Green Bay would take care of business, but I'm not giving up on the division yet.

TB just lost Wirfs for 3-4 weeks, so that will not help them at all.

If the season ended today the entire NFCE would be in the playoffs. If somehow that happened and road teams all won, the NFCE would battle it out in the divisional round.

erod thanks for developing an early look at possibilities----for me...its what cowboy team shows up....i am convinced we can beat any team in NFL and i equally convinced we can lose to any team in NFL

a big chunck of such inconsistency falls on Dak.....Dak has so greatly improved his footwork and throwing motion but it came with much much much work and practice....it is not natural to him...so when

Dak is off he is way off....hats off to Dak to work so hard to improve as a passer but he is not a natural passer like Rogers or Brady or guy from KC or Bills...so if Dak gets nervous it reallty shows in how

he sees the field and footwork and throwing motion....that is why he seems much better in second half most of the time....he has settled down and fatigue takes away nervous energy....just a view from

a fellow Zoner nothing more

Wouldn’t be surprised if it shakes out like this.

I’d love another shot at TB. I think we match up well against them if we just show up.

Better hope for Fields and rough weather. It's more likely they sweep the Giants than vice versa.

Due to the running game and defense, this is the best all around team we have had in a while, but…

They haven’t won a road playoff game in 30 seasons, have only won two in the same season once in team history and nine total.

They are going to win THREE in consecutive weeks just to get INTO the SB?

I have tough time having faith in that. Gotta win this division, but if Philly isn’t going to ever lose, they’ve certainly earned it.
