i admit that i want to see more of high ' leaping' Jake Ferguson - he's only had a bit more than a handful of catches in the pass game as a rookie .. but twice he's made some highlight reel wow catches ...

Plus i'd like to accelerate the rapport between Dak and Ferguson ... yeh i'll say it, i'm preparing for the departure replacement of Dalton Schultz, ..more so, even as a rookie, Ferguson is already a better inline/edge blocker than Schultz.

We're in good shape to move on from Schultz, as we not only have Ferguson but rookie Peyton Hendershot as well. The more game experience both will continue to get, the more set, prepared we'll be with quality
TE play and depth going into next year.

McClay's a genius. No one saw this but he and his scouts.

Man Shultz whiffs on a block it seems once a game but dang he’s a good TE

if he could block perhaps I’d be a bit more all in at keeping him but we have a pretty good group with the 2 youngins and picking up a TE late or even FA is not hard

Shultz has earned a payday u just don’t think it will be here and shouldn’t be with other needs we have
I really both Ferguson and Hendershot ( what a cool name)

For now. Ferguson will be just as good of a pass catcher eventually but Ferguson is much more of a brute.

Rookie TEs, even the good ones, usually suck.

Dude has been good since he got here.
Love furgy, but Shultz is a master pass catcher. Guy catches everything. He’s a stud for dak.

Ferguson is better now than Schultz was as a rookie. If he improves the way Schultz did, he will be better than Schultz in 3 years.

IMO, the Cowboys have other players they need to sign down the road, like Diggs. I'd raather they use their cap space on Diggs than Schultz. No offense to Schultz. He is a good player but it will be easier to replace him than Diggs.
Not true. Shultz is daks security blanket. Hard to replace. He gets open and catches everything.

I didn't know about Ferguson until after we drafted him. Then I watched more of his reel and I knew he'd be legit.

Draft time rumor had it that Cowboys coveted TE Charlie Kolar from Iowa State with their 4th round pick, ..but Baltimore who likely anticipated Cowboys
were looking for a 2nd TE, selected two spots ahead of the Cowboys - who of course selected Ferguson.

We suspect that we are loaded Shultz is having a good season and he is blocking a lot better he has knocked several players off their feet
Dude is horrible in Yac, fumbles at the worst times, and wants a fat pay day. I hope he gets it, but not in Dallas. The rookies can replace him at a much cheaper rate, and the Cowboys can give that money to Pollard. He was a no show when Dak was gone and according to certain people on 105.3 wasn't really as injured as he made it out to be. He then was magically healthy when his boy Dak came back. I dont dislike Schultz but he can definitely take those contract demands to another team.

QB Rating when thrown to: 140+
Highest on the team by 30 points.

I think we liked a group of guys pretty close (Rucker, Otten, Kolar, and Ferguson) and got the last one left. I think Otten would have been out 3rd round pick if Tolbert was gone.

Shultz is better than Ferguson
But is he better than the rookie combo at ten times the price? I had high hopes Dalton would become a better blocker, but it hasn't happened.

Take the savings from a Schultz departure put it into keeping Pollard at what 26 , get him under wraps for 3 yrs give Zeke a necessary pay cut . The two rookies plus McKeon are a nice TE fill then off-season look for an UDFA to round it out . The scouting dept is up to it they advocated for Hendershot .
