I thought it was Romo (and it could very well be) but I noticed that Cowboys coaches were calling more pass plays instead of runs inside the 10. Throwing 3 straight times on the 1 yard line was insane. Even Irvin was openly questioning the play calling in those situations.

That Matty Ice was able to pass for the TD notwithstanding, Cowboys coaches need to be more smashmouth in the redzone. And speaking of Matty Ice, anyone notice him telling Romo to calm down (essentially "shut up") leading up to winning TD?

Good one, almost got me!

did like the immediate passes to WR .. Romo held ball for 1 second. These were sideline throws... If we can get those with some initial movement, ala Pats & Broncos, we can be deadly using Dez and Beasley...

Troll? Perhaps I'm getting up there in age to understand the term these days, but I'm just talking about Cowboys football. Is that no longer something of interest in CZ?

IF you were a Troll ....

They've already played the pro bowl?

IMHO I thought as the game went along it looked just like Linny calling plays all season. Yes they threw a lot, but they ran to keep the game close and shortened the game in the 2nd half. I loved it. I felt like i was watching the cowboys except that Ingram isnt half of the player Murray is!

I knew somebody was going to make a comment about this. Seriously. It's an all-star game. They let Ryan do what he wanted to do.
Especially since he's the one who knows what he's used to and most comfortable doing.

When they called in the play during the earlier timeout Ryan didn't understand the lingo and got the play all screwed up.(should have been a pick)
couple plays later another timeout. In the huddle with Romo and the other coaches they were all saying different plays and Ryan didn't know what was going on. He said, "calm down," and essentially picked his own play. It worked out, team IRVIN won.

I don't share your opinion at all as I don't put any importance in the pro bowl. But by all means keep it real. Some of these guys on message boards are clowns and just look to down grade people. Not saying names just my view of things.

He meant in the sense that your thread was started to get a certain response from other posters.

The title led me to click the thread with skepticism.

But I think too much is being made of it.

I'm being trolled over at the falcon forum I belong to about it.

Haven't took the bait yet.

Just my 2 cents. I see a trend I call it. All games are about ENTERTAINMENT genius. I understand that the pro bowl is less competitive but I am sure that Garrett and crew did not change their play calling tendencies specifically for the pro bowl. It's the exact opposite for a game that means nothing or next to nothing, you keep the gist of your scheme and situational play calling.

hey super duper genius. the probwl counts for nothing. even the teams don't represent anyone from the NFL, team carter? team Irvin? seriously!!! at least it used to be conference based. now teammates against teammates...

and they were going to cancel the probowl because nobody cared about it, interest was lost, so they tried changing the format. and yes Mr. super duper, out of this world genius, its all about entertainment, but there is a lot of money, fame on the line with real NFL games as opposed to this play ground count for nothing probowl....

but its obvious you weren't objective. and tried to make a very subjective call. and I guarantee you they changed their play calling tendencies for the probowl. because you can't blitz in the probowl. you can't run 22 personnel. there are few formations that can't be used. so you still want to stick to your super subjective, agenda driven line!!!

bottom line is they were having fun with it. that was totally lost on you since you were doing coaching evaluation. you are obviously taking it more seriously than anybody else in america, since you took the time to "spot" play calling trends, assoriate it with garrett and make sure you called him out. nobody else cared

"Super duper genius", what a comeback. LOL. I obviously misspoke. You are obviously a savant. I leave it to you to figure out what kind.

Apologies if the title or the post indicated that I was trying to lead anyone towards anything. It was simply an observation on a pro bowl that had a uniquely Dallas Cowboys flavor, with the entire coaching staff and most of the offensive players participating. We are not likely to see something like this for a long time, if ever, and I thought it was a good opportunity to engage in discourse.

Slightly off topic, I really found myself hoping Irvin's mic would be live when certain things happened.

No such luck.
