Young all-pro players like Berry are worth every penny, imo. Since he's a Dallas fan, you might be able to lock him into a 5 year deal (3 years guaranteed, last 2 are cuttable)

If you can lock him up long-term I have no problem with it. He just turned 28, but Berry is going to play in this league a long time.

I'm thinking a Woodson/Newman type career. Harper was still out there ballin' at safety in his 30's too and he's not even close to Berry's level.

I'd rather use that money to re-sign Leary and kick Collins out to RT. Keep your strength.

OT - when I go back into the archives of old CZ threads, I see a lot of posters perma-benched. It scares me :) Who were these people? They had families!

I'd be leery of Leary. (ohhhhhh lawwwwwwwd, no, no I dinnant)

I promise, Collins with be better than Leary at LG anyway. Then we'll re-sign him for 6 years and have 4 All-Pros on the line.

Just take a Tackle in the first next year if we need it. I don't care. I'd be aiming to have 5 All-Pros on my line.

I'd be laughing when I did it too. They'd cut to me in the war room and i'd be laughing like a maniac taking the top rated Tackle in the first.

Yeah, I believe Collins will be better than Leary but Leary at G and Collins at RT is far better than having Collins at G and Free or Green at RT. It's not even close.

It's about keeping your 5 best offensive linemen. It's the strength of the team. The Cowboys are blessed with 5 quality players there. It should be priority # 1 to keep them all.
