Career done? Commanders apparently have the modern Sproles anyway in Chris Thompson.

Sproles wasn't on the Commanders...

I'm actually surprised he's never been seriously hurt like this in the past, given his size. He's still one of the most dangerous scat back types in the league.

He's saying the Commanders have their own Sproles in Thompson. They do. That dude is good.

Gotcha.

I don't think the Cowboys would know what do to do with a guy like Thompson or Sproles, so I'm a little annoyed he's in the division.

We had one just like him and he got injured right off the bat as soon as he got any significant playing time.

Both injuries occurred on the same play too. OUCH.

Yeah, that's what you call a tough break!

Can't help but to wonder if this is it for him?

Regardless, the Eagles will miss his production and versatility.

I love Darren Sproles. Just a testament to dedication and hard work from a guy overlooked his whole career because of his height.

At 34, this is probably the end for him.

It was one game, he had a break out performance, was it him, or was part of it the Raiders.
I won't disagree, he looked very good. He needs to be planned for at this point. Rob Kelly was out, so he was involved more than usual or planned. I hate the thought they fond a very good player that can help them.
But let's see if he can follow that performance for several games in a row.

Ouch. That's a tough injury for Eagles, imo. Decent chance this might end his career.

Agree, was sick that he went to the eagles. Not sure why we didn't grab him when he was available, esp after all the times he killed us.
I feel terrible for him, great player always underestimated because of his size on the outside but fight of a lion on the inside. I don't however feel bad for us or the eagles as that team and city deserve eternal misery.

Thompson had a long TD last week as well.

I'm not too surprised he hasn't sustained too many big injuries in his career, although he did break his ankle in the pre-season of the 2006 season and missed the entire year. He really has never touched the ball a tremendous amount during his NFL career. He ranks 72nd all-time in touches(rushing, receiving and returns). He averages 167 touches per season. That is a relatively light workload for a running back. He only has 686 career rushing attempts and not many of those are runs up the middle. He has been properly utilized and protected by the teams he has been with, which is the right thing to do with a player his size.

You don't have to touch it as often if you run farther with it when you do.
