The third-year guard is dealing with a hip injury that kept him off the field at the start of practice, but the Cowboys are still hopeful he might participate before the end of the day.

The news was the lone hiccup for an offense which has otherwise been fully healthy this week. If Green is unavailable this weekend, the Cowboys would likely turn to Jonathan Cooper to start at left guard. Byron Bell also has experience playing the position, if need be.

So what about Cheedo? I can't get a straight answer on his estimated return - other than Garret's BS day-to-day parroting.

If he's out, this sucks. We need our line to continue to gain cohesion. 2 new starters this season in Green and La'El. They need to find their groove. Green is a fine lineman. They need to find their stride. This is what made our OL so dominating. They played together every week, with an occasional spot start.

Now, it's two new guys adding a gear to the cog.

If Cooper doesn't come in and assimilate right away, this could be a step back in the OL development.

I want Green to be in. He's a good OL. The more these beasts play together, the better they'll get as a unit.

I hope @stasheroo is right. I think it's more than just being better. I don't think the talent gap between Green and Cooper is that large, that inserting Cooper makes our OL immediately better.

that hip is probably chronic at this stage. Like Stephan Pea knee, it will be week-to-week management thru their career. Personally, I wouldn't extend contracts on those players.

I still don't understand how you can take an injury prone player at TACKLE, slide him into guard where he goes up against most often bigger and stronger players, and expect him to stay healthy. They're missing Collins' nastiness at tackle also. Cowboys missed on this one.

I, for one, will be VERY concerned if Lee is out vs. the Rams. I don't trust our run defense without him. Especially against a dynamic back like Gurley. Also, Lee will be missed in the short to immediate passing game Goff has excelled at so far this season. If Lee were to play I think it would be a sage bet that Lee baits Goff into a pick. IMO not having Lee in this game is about a 3.5 point swing. Of course Vegas wouldn't drop the spread that much, but Lee is that important to our defense.

Chaz had regressed each week in play..... Last week was quite awful at times. I'm all for Copper getting his shot as of now

And I'm one of Chaz biggest supporters, but his play has been subpar since week #1
