I got thrown off a horse in the late 80's, my right size 15 got stuck in the sturrip. Got dragged for a bit and had to have a complete reconstruction of my ankle done. 16 weeks on crutches. Not very good memories, but I still ride.
Your lucky in a lot of ways coach, as it could've been worse, I've got a buddy into the race horse game and would buy Big ol' thoroughbred race horses that after he figured out they were a wash out on the track would get me boozed up and have me turn then into saddle horses( all they've ever done was track work, so you can imagine turning them to the right started an immediate rodeo
)
I've rode and wrecked some of them right into the dirt
The really cool thing about it is you've got a lightening fast horse with some of the not completely inbred idiot ones
that mule I got stuck with crashed and burned several times ,mostly after I'd had him shod(he'd never been shoed) I used to ride him up to a bar a couple miles up the river bed from where him and my buddies track horse's were stabled
Oh,I almost forgot,,, "BULL RIDERS" ain't all that very bright to begin with
