Give Richard a nice pay check and a few extra titles next to his name with a handshake agreement to take over for Rod. We need a contingency plan in place now with Rod already being on the fence. May not be a better name out there next year
Not sure why Seattle fired him, ton of injuries on that D and they still weren’t bad.

He is not a LB coach. Better to pay him to be Baker's replacement. But I bet he has a more attractive offer elsewhere.

On a side note, the Seahawks hired Solari as their OL coach.

Not saying I wouldn't be OK with this move but how much of Seattle's defensive success came from having a defensive-minded head coach?

Pete Carroll earned his chops as a DC.

Richard earned a lot of criticism since he took over. After Bradley and Quinn, he was a real step down in a lot of people's eyes.

How much of that might be because the Legion of Boom fell apart and got old, who knows.

The real coordinator of that defense is Pete...it’s his system. The coordinator installs it and gets to make calls, but you can be sure Pete gives his input in certain situations.

Garbage. Put Rod into his well-deserved retirement.
He can maintain his hobby at the High School level for his great great grandchildren.

Legit question. Talent trumps everything. No matter how good a play, or a scheme is: you needs players to execute and believe and scrap and fight and catch and stop catches, for everything they're worth.

This game is so hard...

So many things...

To many fans, it's easy: just get such and such to do so and so! Go Man! Stop the 10 yard cushions! Why won't Claiborne go in with a proper tackle? Who's teaching these guys?
But there's so much more. Sometimes players just don't do what the coaches want and sometimes that's the coach's fault. Unfortunately it's more a Jerry fault...

There's motivation and knowing the men behind the players and getting them into positions to succeed and continuing the education as players learn your game and...

So many things.

One thing that always has and always will stand out is that Talent and age will be a coaches GRAND AWAKENING to the football world, or their last depot before FindAnotherJob Hill.

I've been typing a lot and I have to admit- I wanted to be tipsy for work and ended up stuck on this site.
I'm leaving for now.

That's part of what makes it difficult to evaluate a coach. We tend to get excited about those who come from a successful team or unit and disappointed when Dallas hires ones who don't ... because really that's all we know. We don't know how much of an actual input these coaches have had or what has impacted their success or failure.

Don't know much about him other than he has been around winners. Garrett likes to surround himself with grandpa types. He's not going to let some young up and comer in the circle. Not gonna happen. Well maybe. But I doubt it.
