As crazy as the award seems. I do think Switzer can be a good return man for the team.

He played fairly well for a rookie. He just had a few bonehead decisions. If he cuts that out, he can be good.

Would have rather seen him as an all rookie slot/utility player but Linny and JG are still sitting around the office trying to figure that one out as well!

He had some bone head plays but overall he did a nice job
Yup.

Seriously, you guys don't seem to understand punt returning. 1-2 TD's are generally high.

Looking down the list for 2015, there was one PR who had 2 TD's returning punts. And there were only 9 returners who had 1 TD.

In 2016 there were only 3 guys who had 2 TD's returning punts.

That is facts adjusting a way of thinking.

Well he was
  • 3rd in the NFL in kick return average
  • 12th in the NFL in punt return average

Didn't seem like a great year for returners...and it's much harder to return kicks now compared to in the past...but relatively speaking, he was one of the better return guys out there.
Shhh! You said the first positive thing in this thread. Now go hang yourself! Dilly. Dilly.

In all honesty, our blocking was garbage and I’d blame the special teams coach before I blame him.

His return showed he was pretty damn nifty when the blocking was somewhat decent.

We’ve had issues with our returners for years, so I’d start with the coach.

Huh?!?

Switzer is slow as hell, and it seems like he almost never creates...

I’d rather have .75% healthy dread-head Harris...

Seriously, seems like he’s running about a mid-6 40, all while he’s returning straight into darkness...

Well I don't really care about the kicking garbage but I would have loved to have seen him more at wide receiver

As much as he frustrated me this year and made me roll my eyes at this thread, I have to take some of my own medicine. Just as I have said our impatient population should give Dak and Jaylon the customary 3 years on the field, I must also do the same with Switzer. He was chosen for a reason. Hopefully he starts to show more meaningful flashes next year.

Go compare his numbers to Harris as a return guy

That's pretty close to what I was going to say!!!

Harris is slow for a PR. Very average.

Switzer had a slow start. He had several nice returns thereafter.

Hard to believe someone didn't think he showed flashes. PR for a TD and several other good returns. He showed more than flashes.

Switzer has enough quicks to be a good return guy, and he showed in Week 17 that he can play at a Beasley level on offense. He just needs to cut out the stupid fair catch decisions and he'll be a good player.

Considering he had some really bone headed plays as a returner, maybe he wasn’t ready for a bigger role in the offense
