Which QB was Parcells supposed to draft in 2003? There wasn't a great list of choices that draft.

Carson Palmer had a good career(46,247 yards, 294 TDs), but he also went #1 overall. Dallas was not in a position to get him. Had they tried to trade up they would have spent a lot of picks to do so.

Byron Leftwich is second in the draft class of 2003 with 10,532 yards and 58 TD passes. He played until 2012. He never passed for more than 3000 yards or 20 TDs in a single season. His career passer rating was 78.9, which was well below average during the years he played.

Rex Grossman is third of the drafted QBs from 2003 with 10,232 yards and 56 TDs. His passer rating was 71.4 and he threw more interceptions than TDs.

The last first round QB drafted in 2003 was Kyle Boller. I don't remember a single thing about his actual playing days. All I remember is that he shot up the draft boards because he could throw the ball through the uprights from midfield while on his knees. I didn't think that was a big deal then and still don't.

There were no QBs drafted in the 2nd round in 2003. That is very telling about how bad the GMs and coaches thought about that class at that time.

Notable Cowboy related passers from the draft class of 2003:
Brooks Bollinger has the 7th most passing yards from those drafted that season with 2226 yards.
Drew Henson is 11th with 98 yards.
Jason Witten is 12th with 42 yards.

Avoid blondes in the stands.

Don't go to Cabo during the playoffs.

Don't make it a habit of smoking weed and getting caught.

When a play is called and you ignore it and throw an interception just before half time, be prepared to get yanked in favor of the other guy

ABOVE ALL ELSE DON'T EAT THE CHEESE

I saw a lot of Kyle Boller. He was mediocre and eventually got Brian Billick fired,

Well we're on to the run game carrying the team but the defense still has a lot to be desired.
exactly right.
and until we get there, the QB will be required to step outside the Bill Parcells' bus driver box to help take the team further.
We don't the luxury that Jacksonville or Minnesota has (though that Vikes QB was better than a bus driver).

Call me crazy-and I get it if some will-- but I think Dak can and will get better.

this year will tell the tale. If he can clean up his mechanics that will help a lot. Whoever the New QB coach is should have that as his primary duty.
Unfortunately like Tony before him he will have to work around the lousy HC and interfering and incompetent GM. Tony was able to get it done and Dak will have to do so as well; the sad thing is like Tony before him Dak will rise or fall based on the D in the end.

Once Bill Parcells made the decision that Quincy "the bong" Carter would be his QB he became unqualified to judge QB's.

I don't think he had a choice but to work with what was here when he got here. It was him or Chad Hutchinson. Parcells took Quincy and went 10-6 with him and a playoff appearance. That is amazing work and showed that he could have won with him before the mysterious cutting of Quincy at training camp. What were you expecting BP to do his first season here? Cut the only guys that we had here?

What QB did you want and how would you imagine obtaining him?

I would have evaluated from film and everything else that Carter sucked and would have proceeded as if we needed to start from scratch. FA, draft, trades, ect....ect...

I would expect him to go out and get a real QB.

Continue. Tell us all about who was available to the Cowboys.

Parcells was the best coach since Johnson.
