Nate Newton sees it. Why don't they?

Taking a 6th round rated player w/ injury issues in the 3rd is a common mistake? I beg to differ!!!!!!!!!!
  • Chaz Green, OT, Florida
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 314.
    40 Time: 5.16.
    Projected Round (2015): 4-6.

4/27/15: Green had a solid 2014 season for Florida. He even played some left tackle while D.J. Humphries was out with an injury. Green is a strong run-blocker and dependable in pass protection. He didn't have his best game against Missouri, but he bounced back with a superb outing against Georgia as he was part of an offensive line that dominated the Bulldogs' defense with the Gators running for over 400 yards on the ground. Green also did well against LSU and Florida State. While not many know about him, Green is a sleeper pick who could be a third-day steal.

8/27/14: Green was injured in 2013's fall camp and went out for the season with a torn labrum. Florida missed him all year as their offensive line was dreadful. He made the wise decision to return to Florida rather than enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

Green had a solid sophomore season at right tackle for the Gators. Florida had a lot of success running the ball with Mike Gillislee in 2012 and Green was an integral part of the team's tough ground game. There were times where he had some problems in pass protection. Florida State's Bjoern Werner destroyed him in their matchup.
  • THe scouts put a higher grde on him and missed it happens

Rounds 4-6. And I have him as a projected UFA.

Not sure what this is saying. It appears to agree that we did overdraft him.

This... Chaz is going to get Cooper or Mike White crushed.

Yes and if he gets any time this season with the starters, he'll get Dak crushed again. I didn't like the pick when they drafted him and I've never liked him since he got here. Chaz Green is just bad news.
They could do better than Chaz at Home Depot. Dump this bum.

Chaz Green is a waste of a roster spot. Why is he still here?

Chaz Green is a bizarre story.

He was a capable backup in 2016 with 2 starts as LT in the middle of the season.

He radically regressed at OT.

He was OK in 3 starts at LG in 2017 but horrible at LT.

He has struggled at RT this preseason.

It all a technique issue but he just keeps repeating the same technique problems.

His 2nd or 3rd step is too much inside and not enough straight back. He tends to just stop his feet at the primary at the initial engagement with the rusher which is at about his 3rd step back.

If you think of the OT moving in a circular arc back to just behind the QB, Green is too far inside the arc.

Similar to golf where most amatuers are outside the swing plane (usually outside).

They should put a barrier behind him in practice to force him to take the proper path going back. Put spikes on it and make it an electric fense...

Green has the foot quickness, size and strength required but his technique is horrible.

They are Cowboys, so that means on this forum they are all STARS.

You know what concerns me, 15 years ago, many fans on the message boards wanted Andre Gurode on a noose. He moved to a different position, then becomes a 5X pro bowler. Put Green back at guard and see what happens.
Agreed. I suspect Chaz may be our replacement for the loss of Marcus Martin at swing guard.

As hard as this is for me to say....choke choke i can see Dallas keeping him for now because there really isnt anyone out there right now. The problem I have is why in the world is he taking reps away from someone else who could use the reps. IMO he should be the 3rd stringer and they can try him at G but they still need to give reps to another player.

I think that's in the cards and suspect you do too. Of course, whether they get someone much better suited to take his place is yet to be determined. I'm hoping that someone might turn up as a result of the final cuts. We'll see.

S and T needed seem to be elsewhere at present. They can get both but it may cost them esp S as other teams now in need as well.

You just cannot analyze ANY player on offense when Chaz Green is blocking. He simply ruins any scheme or anything you are doing on offense. He is now ruining the 2nd team offense now like he did the first team offense last year.

Here's an article discussing very much the same thing after the Atlanta debacle:

https://247sports.com/nfl/dallas-co...-Chaz-Green-mentally-going-forward-110472208/

Pollack mentions "losing the player". And ultimately, he lost far more than that, he lost his own job. And I think that was directly connected to Chaz Green. I've gone back and read and watched video from draft day, and the Green pick had Pollack's fingerprints all over it. And it appears that Bryan Broaddus was Pollack's Buddy and chief cheerleader along the way too.

But that fact is that he is, was, and always will be a fragile player, both physically and mentally. Weak on both areas, heck the guy can't even make it through practice! And then he gets into games and is routinely abused by second and third string players. Teams have to be licking their chops when they see him out there

The guy has never recovered from the Atlanta game and he never will. Why this stubborn team continues to try to delay the inevitable is beyond me. Cut the bum now and bring in someone else who hasn't proven themselves to be a failure. Give the team a chance at finding someone who might be able to play.

Time to stop beating this dead horse and just admit your mistake.
