Those are calls that make or break your season.

Showed zero confidence in the offense.

We all knew once we punted it was game over.

Fire this clown today.

It literally sums up the Jason Garrett era. Playing not to lose as opposed to playing to win

It's because the Oline was sucking ostrich eggs all game long. Several times they tried to run for 1-2 yards to gain a 1st down, yet they failed most of the time. The Oline was so bad, Zeke averaged 2.7 yards per carry for a paltry 54 yards on 20 carries, and Dak was under constant pressure, he himself dodging his way and saving from getting sacked at least 6 more times.

The Texans D-line was constantly winning the battle at the line of scrimmage, yet Houston's QB had almost all day all game long to sit back, eat a sandwich and drink some tea while finding his receivers getting wide open downfield. It was frustrating to watch Houston's Oline of mostly scrubs dominate all game long while our Oline of a bunch of 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder get totally manhandled. Coaches need to get fired if this keeps up.

Biggest issue was that the Texans just needed a FG to win. If it was a scenario(just follow me) where they needed to score a TD to win, sure punt it. However the defense was poor between the 20's. Especially with Hopkins abusing any corner who tried to cover him.

The odds just aren’t in our favor. Their offense thrashed us all night. We have a few red zone stands and a missed field goal. Easily could’ve been 27-16.

What I hate, we are a meddling 2-3 team now. We aren’t super bowl caliber, hell we probably just lost the division. You need to stack wins like that. Even if we held the Texans, we likely tie. Come on Garrett. He’s been spineless, lame duck etc. He coaches in fear of losing. Not coaching to win

Cannot emphasize this point enough. We did not stop their offense from 20 to 20. All they needed was 3.

He just doesn’t understand the game. He has no feel for the game. Consistently he chooses wrong innthese game ending situations and that’s a major part of his joh.

Luckily though, he’s learning and in 8 more years he’ll have this thing mastered.

Agreed. I believe Garrett made the right call (and I’ve wanted him long gone for quite some time now), given the situation at the time. Our OL had had a poor outing of run blocking most of the game, and Zeke had just been stuffed inches behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd down.

With almost 6 minutes left to go in the game, the right call was to punt, pin the Texans deep in their own territory, and hope that our defense could limit their field progression with the hopes of getting the ball back in fairly good field position with enough time to try to get into field goal position again. Garrett’s decision, IMO, was further vindicated because the Texans ended up getting into fieid goal position with more field to cover than they would have had if in fact they had stopped us on 4 and 1 from their own 41 yard line.

Do you have any confidence in this offense??? I don't get it. The offense has been horrific for almost a calendar year, and you guys are wanting him to go for it in OT on the Houston 42? You basically give them the game if you make that play.

The defense has played well. Using one of the best punters in the game to let your defense try to hold them gives you the best chance to win. Period.

I'd agree with you, if it wasn't overtime and if they didn't just need a FG to win.

Do I have confidence? Hell no.

Should Garrett who is with these guys every practice and day of the week? Absolutely.

We’ve been pumped full of how good we can be but don’t capitalize?

Like I stated earlier, if we were a 5-1, 4-2 team in the division lead, I would understand the call. We’re average. We need every win possible. Take a chance and trust the guys up front to get one yard.

The defense played well inside of the red zone. Outside of the that, they moved the ball when and how they wanted

what do stats from 2 years ago have to do with last night when Houston's dline was owning Dallas and had just stuffed 3rd down for a loss?

The thought that our D was shutting down the Texans is a myth. They regularly converted chains but couldn't punch it in the in zone as often. But they accounted for at least one score a quarter except for in the 1st quarter. Mainly FIELD GOALS!!!! Garret should have went for it. A field goal NOT a TD! Was required!
