Who's out there? I admit that I haven't given it much thought because I still don't believe that Jerry will part with his favorite red-headed stepson. At best, I am hoping Jerry gives Jason an office job (which he'd probably be far better at than coaching) so we can at least get a coach. But...who's going to want to coach this mess?

Who needs a list of coaches? We have the teflon carrot. Our only concern is that he replaces Saban at Alabama someday.

you wont know who’s out there till a direction is determined
Really you have two direction
An NFL experienced HC
Or a college guy
To me considering Dak is your QB next year and likely the next few years the scheme is as important and the man
To me we need a young innovative OC who can develope a scheme that gets the most out of what you have
Whether he is just the OC or HC is not as important
In some ways being just OC takes pressure of him to work strictly on offense and have an experienced guy to sit in the big chair

third direction (both ) = Jim Harbaugh ( former NFL head coach, NFL assistant coach (QB coach for Raiders under Bill Callahan), college head coach, former NFL player)

Bonus.....without a first round pick, what better voice to have in the room than a former college head coach.

BTW .....he can bring in Callahan as his offensive coordinator. He signed a 3-year deal as OL coach with the Skins 2015 that expires end of this but made no secret he really wanted to run his own offense. This team is built to run the ball.......who's better than Callahan.

Bonus II.....you give Colombo the best OL coach in football

Other words, he checks off ALL the boxes IMO. His passion reminds me of Jimmy Johnson, he won 't accept anything less than a Super Bowl. He's going my guy until they officially extend Jason or hire someone else.

A few concerns about Jim Harbaugh-

1. Jerry would never hire a guy again with that much football credential. Harbaugh has bonafide coaching cred and JJ is intimidated by coaches like that.
2. Harbaugh has always run a very vanilla offense. We already have that here.
3. Having a running game is good but in today’s NFL where scoring around 27-30 is critical, you better also have a good passing game.

If Jerry makes a change at HC, I think it’s more likely he hires a young up and coming NFL assistant no one has heard of. (A Chan Gailey type) He likes hiring guys who don’t have accomplishments that can outshine or intimidate him.

No good Coach in his right mind is going to come to Dallas knowing that the Insane Clown Possie. Jerry and Stephen will force feed him coaches and Scheme. They all know what happened with Jimmy and Parcells

It's hard to see some young upcoming coach wanting to take a risk at becoming the HC here, the past couple decades doesn't bode well for their future. The best option we could hope for may be a long time assistant or college HC that has been overlooked or never given the opportunity. Then hope they could attract talented young coaches looking to build their resume in hopes of moving up.

The coach that says ok
1 Dak is the starting QB no competition
2 assistant coaches are under contract so they will stay
3 you will not be the face of the Cowboys
4. Jerry or Steven will give team updates and you will agree with them
5. Building the roster works the way it is now. We will give you players you manage thier time

Why don't JJ just go down on the sidelines and do what he's been doing all this time....since Parcells left?

If Garrett goes, the odds on favorite to replace him is Norv Turner.

I can almost smell the excitement.

*blows brains out*

Honestly, most of the up and coming talent got ransacked pretty hard the last 2 years.

Head Coach or offense minded guys for Coordinator is pretty thin. You have someone like LeFleur OC of the Titans who came from Shanahan and McVay, but he signed a big OC deal with Tennessee and it'd be hard, also risky, to try and give him a HC spot. Then you have someone like Lincoln Riley at OU, but that's a gamble too.

I'd prefer someone from the Reid, Shanahan, McVay tree but it's pretty slim pickings.

I don't like the jim harbaugh option...I think he has a volatile personality and likes the spot light. he and Jerry jones wouldn't be a good combination and probably last 2 years and then down the hill.

I don't like Callahan as OC....he is an OL coach....and if he was any good 31 other teams would/could make a play for him...he is older and his offense philosophy is old too....he wasn't that great to begin with...

there are always candidates....I like

Schwartz DC from Philly. He failed as head coach once, but so did many others....but he always boasted good defenses....he is a 4-3 DC and he has an aggressive style. he may choose to keep Richards given they have similar aggressive defensive styles....I also think Gruden in DC might get fired at the end of the year, there is a lot of rumors. I like his offense. I like his passing scheme and he has lesser WRs than we do. He also likes to run the ball more than people think. he could be a good OC candidate.

I like Deflippo the OC from Minn as another option.

Also Schottenheimer could be another option. he is OC in seattle and has Wilson, although Wilson is much better QB than Dak, but they have similar styles.

David Shaw is an option, but I doubt if he leaves Stanford for a 3-4 year stint in dallas. he may want some place more secure and stable.

I don't like Jim Harbaugh....he is got a volatile personality and can't see him and Jerry getting along as they both want credit for everything....he will wear out his welcome quickly....

I doubt if Payton leaves NO, regardless of money or draft picks....he needs a QB to run his system and Dak ain't it.....and we have no first round pick to chase a QB in draft.

there is and outside chance for Norv Turner, his last shot at HC job, but his system requires a QB that can pass from the pocket and Dak ain't it....

Great option but not sure it’s possible to get harbaugh
