IM gonna start with two sets stats for Dak and Elliot pre Cooper and Filo and post.

Dak Prescott before Cooper & Filo
7 games
169 ypg 62%comp 6.52ypa 8td 4int 88.2RTG 2rushing td

After Cooper and Filo
3 games(2 with Filo)

243.6 ypg 69.7% comp 7.4yra 3td 1 int 2 rushing td 96.3 RTG

And it doesnt stop there.

Ezekiel Elliot first 7 games
88.4 ypg 4.6ypc 3td 25rec ypg 1td

3 games with Cooper(2 Filo)
111.3ypg 5.7ypc 2td 55.3 rec ypg 1td

Two moves have improved Daks numbers across the board. But not only his they have improved Elliots numbers by alot. It hasnt always been pretty in the 3 games but it takes some time to get a chemistry going. But where before Dallas didnt have the guy running routes who could take that S with him and allowed the the defense to cheat with that extra guy in the box. And they had a guy at LG who is very athletic but just doesnt have the strength right now to do what needs to be done.

So what did Jerry do? He went and got a legit #1 who was being wasted by Gruden intentionally gutting the Raiders to make it his own. And inserted a big strong guy who is average at best but he has the strength they need.

Too many people are blinded by their own need to think they know more football then these people who are paid to do this for a living. Maybe just maybe Dallas didnt have the players to start the yr. But they got them in there now. Everybody questioned Dallas in drafting Vander Esch(me included) and this kid is by far the favorite to win DROY. Yes, sometimes this teams does things that make you scratch your head, but they know more then any of us.

Getting back to Dak, he needs to stop questioning his impulse and let the ball out of his hands. He's second guessing himself and you can see that in how many times he sets up to throw only to not. But we are seeing it alot less. While Cooper has done alot for Dak, i think Dak really needs that TE as the safety net if they are going to stick with JG moving forward. Swaim is ok but he seems to be getting hurt alot more now. He misses alot of plays during games because he takes himself out.

The team has finally learned how to use Elliot, he's been over 200 total yrds 2 games in a row. He just seems to be seeing the field better because he's being more patient. Using that studder step that showed up Bell up in 2016.

Joe Looney IMO needs to be brought back at LG if Frederick is coming back next yr. Looney has transformed his body and he can move out there on the field.

Jaylon smith and Leighton Vander Esch have transformed this defense. It's hard to replace Lee, but this team did it. Really think both these kids should be grateful to have played and learned from a great teacher an player in Lee. This team needs to sign this guy back as soon as he retires as a coach.

Its good to see this team realizing they have a very athletically gifted player in Jourdan Lewis. They really need to find ways to get him on the field. I have no idea why he isnt returning kicks and punts either. I have no idea how Brown plays over him. Every time opposing teams need a 1st down on 3rd down they seem to just target Brown.

Dallas has some crazy depth at DL. They had 4 players out and still got pressure and held the Falcons to under 100 yrds.8th overall in total defense, and 3rd in points allowed.

I like to see the stats on Awuzie and Brown for first downs given up/completion percentage/QB rating against them.

I know there was a tweet on Awuzie last week showing how bad he was.

I would say Chubb and Darius Leonard also have a better shot at DROY, but LVE is climbing the national ladder to be at least considered.
If LVE started from day 1 I would think he would at least be leading the league in tackles.

But Leonard is #1 in tackles, has 5 sacks, 4 FF and 1 INT.

we also played against two limited defenses that are ranked 23rd and 29th in the league.... Eagles are about to get worse, given they lost their top 3 CBs and just can't play anything exotic.

so as good as it looks, against titans a top 10 defense we fizzeled badly.

How come you cant make these same arguments for the team you root for? But criticize them for. This team has had OL injuries, had bad Wr play bad coaching and at times bad Qb play. But theyre still finding ways to win and stay in the playoff hunt. and now are favorites to win the div. Didnt the eagles have some other worldly amount of injuries you people used to shove down our throats last yr? Now all of the sudden they get a pass for injuries, but you minimize the Cowboys own injuries but just say their Qb and team just are bad? Who needs opposing fans hate when Dallas has its own fans.

Awuzie started the yr hot. But i think he is dealing with nagging injuries. nothing big but something that limits him.A back injury which he had doesnt go away easy and lingers over time.

I root for the team, was on edge of my seat during the game...no one gets a pass for injuries, it happens to all teams. Atlanta had injuries. Commanders. Eagles. Cowboys..... usually healthiest teams succeed better.... but it doesn't excuse our play yesterday which was underwhelming against bottom 5 defense. run game looks good. defense looked good. passing game still struggles. sorry, I am not a wave the pom poms and rah rah rah guy.... that's for cheerleaders

I guess the coaches believe he's still the best option there, even with a possible nagging injury.
Still think he'll turn out to be a fine player. But he's definitely being tested a lot out there.

What we have seen the last 3 weeks, is how we saw Dallas beat teams in 2016. Nothing pretty or flashy because this is a team who wants to wear out a team. Thats not really the players with the say so, but the system that plays that type of football. 70% completion rate is not struggling at all. Some people think the type of football this team plays and gameplans is a direct fault for Dak. He runs the plays that are given to him. And sadly most of them plays are predictable to opposing teams. So it puts them the offense in a bad situation from jump. Unless u can have any type of say in what the teams doing, then yes you are just a pomp pomo guy. Because all we can do is cheer for the team. Or like some just B and moan about them. But how can you keep watching something that riles you up the way some get here. To me thats pointless.

He gives up some catches but its not an obscene amount. He's not getting beat like Brown does thats for sure. Awuzie i think will end up being moved to FS. He seems alot better facing the play rather than with his back to the ball.

Agree with everything here, especially like the bolded parts. I think Dak hates throwing to receivers that he doesn't trust. I think losing Witten was much bigger than losing Dez for that very reason. At the beginning of the year, he only trusted Beaz and Zeke. He seems to be developing that trust with Cooper. If we can retain Swaim and get a nice receiving TE in day #2 of the draft, we might have something.

Both Looney and Filo are signed through next year. I really hope the Cowboys give those guys a chance to start. I understand penning in guys like Martin, Smith, and Fred, but I don't think Williams and Collins deserve that treatment yet. The competition will only make those guys better.

Lewis is returning kickoffs. I figure he's not returning punts because they are more difficult to field.

Lewis should be starting over always burnt Awuzie.

Anyone covering Julio Jones is going to get burned, the guy is a Hall of Famer. Lewis can't beat out Anthony Brown for playing time, much less Awuzie.

perhaps the coaches put in that scheme because the QB isn't able to conduct anything more complex.....We saw Romo in the same offense. not comparing Dak to Romo, but just sayin'......

IIRC Linehan said 2016 was a scaled back offense. 2017 he tried to implement more of the playbook/more complex. Not sure what his plan was this year.

Not saying it's the truth, but that's what he said at least.

Looks like you forgot another HUGE move made by the front office and the most important out of all the recent moves made, in my opinion. The fire of Alexander and the promoting of Mark Colombo/hiring of Hudson Houck. I hate when a team makes a change from what was working but at least they owned the mistake and got back to business as usual on the o-line.
