Since the Rams, eliminated the Cowboys, and Dallas beat the Saints in the regular season, does this make Dallas the 2nd best team in the NFC?

The Cowboys are young and have cap space to keep top talent on the roster and possibly add a playmaker in the offseason. Dallas has a very bright future.

Meanwhile the Rams, were built through free agency and there window appears to close next Sunday. I see them taking a step or two back next year.

"Any given Sunday" means it doesn't necessarily matter who has the better roster on paper.

Just because we beat the Saints, and the Rams beat the Saints, doesn't automatically mean we had the 2nd best roster lmao.

You have to look at schedules, injuries, and more.

No doubt Dallas is a talented young team with a bright future, but 2nd best roster in the NFC? Nah. But, nonetheless, a talented roster.

I beg to differ. The Cowboys eliminated themselves. Secondly, the Egals defeated the RAMS in L.A with their 2nd string QB. Being the RAMS made it to the SB and the Saints didn't. "The 2nd best team in the NFC" are the Egals.

They would of advanced had Jefferies butter fingers not cause the pick. Dallas lost on neither a pick nor bad call. End of story!

Definitely Top 8...whether that is number 5 behind the Championship participants, or number 8, I don't know.

First of all, you're acting like their second string is bad. Nick Foles is debatably as good or better than Carson Wentz.
Second of all, Eagles wouldn't have advanced had the Bears kicker not missed. Eagles did not play that good either game, especially considering Foles threw like 2 INT's in the Bears Playoff game and had no TD's in the 2nd half of the Saints game. They aren't as good as you or anyone else is making it seem.

Somewhere in the 3-5 range.

Coaching is what empowers a roster. Talent alone doesn’t win championships.

Barry Switzer is the lone exception I can think of in the last 25 years where great coaching wasn’t the key to winning a SB. But those mid 90s Cowboys teams had a huge talent advantage that since the salary cap is almost impossible to have.

It’s fair to say we are in the top 3 in the NFC. Not sure if we are consistently better than the Saints, but I would say we are much better positioned than the Saints over the next 3-5 years.

If recent history means anything, the Rams will take a step back simply by virtue of making it to the SB. Ask the Panthers, Falcons & Eagles.

I am not sure the cowboys have the second best roster in the nfl they have a really good roster though where they lack is in coaching on the offensive side and the head guy

Except we swept them.

I really don't think it matters where we are slotted at this point unless you looking for an offseason feel good. It's all about 2019 and how we can improve the roster and our chances for the upcoming season.

Luckily the eagles didnt advance because the refs were favoring them that whole game.
