Can’t stand Goodell, but HE didn’t blow the call.

And how the heck could he have fixed anything?

It was a no win for him.

OP, You'll be the tree that feel in the woods, and no one was around to hear it. You will have zero affect. Zero nada, nothing. Not a butterfly effect. Not a drop in the ocean. Nothing. The sound you'll make..."ah shoot, I missed it for nothing other than moral outrage".

I'll tell you what. If I get invited to a Super Bowl party by a Nielsen Family, I'll turn it down. Fair enough?

Okay, couple points here and maybe a question or two all in one. 1. It was an obvious poor decision on the Ref's part to not make the call but what proof is there that this was as you say, "Game fixing?" We have enough conspiracy theories already, lets not add to it. 2. Why aren't people outraged about the missed face mask on Goeff that would have made it first and goal on the series prior to the "no call". 3. Haven't I seen Saints players being interviewed at the Super Bowl?, why should fans boycott something that the players have obviously moved on from? Allow the Competition comity to address it and see what happens. I tend not to watch games that have the Patriots in them or that the Boyz aren't playing in but not for some nonsense boycott that will accomplish nothing. Just my 2 pennies worth

I swear they admitted at the beginning of this year that Dez caught it.

They didn't though. What they admitted was that player athleticism had outpaced the rule. That and the fact that fans don't read and explanations as to why it wasn't a catch proved futile against grunts of "it looked like a catch."

Great, go watch the predetermined outcome... If you pay a ref for inside information, you can make money. What a debacle.
Has it ever occurred to any of you conspiracy theorists that maybe, at least once in the past 23 years, the most popular franchise in America, if not the world, would make at least an NFC championship game if the outcome is predetermined? There are blown judgement calls at times, and at others like a couple of weeks ago, outright incompetence. But it's not planned.

I know the title is provocative, but I'm not leading with that to annoy others, just for the fun of it.

I'm serious when I say that Goodell needs to hear the message loud and clear, the debacle that the NFL has become will not be tolerated. Officials who watch NFL receivers get blasted, helmet to helmet, before the ball arrives, and then do nothing about it, have revealed a great deal.

They've revealed they are acting maliciously toward a team in the playoffs.
They have been given instructions to prohibit one team from winning.
Incompetence will no longer cloak these truths.

Knowing that, (there is no dispute or controversy) will you actually promote the destruction of the NFL by watching?

I know that Super Bowl parties are a tradition, and they are a great opportunity for socializing, but the time to act is now. Football will be unwatchable if the public ignores the game fixing that went on. I've been invited to a Super Bowl party already, but I've turned it down. I know its not an easy thing to do.

Will you seriously consider making other plans? Fishing, a get together with friends, doing anything else?

The NFL must get this message. WHAT FOOTBALL HAS BECOME IS UNACCEPTABLE!!

First you forget the helmet to helmet hit Smith did and wasn't called. The point is refs have missed calls, even blatant calls since the NFL started. Next give me all your proof that anyone is acting maliciously during the playoffs and that anyone was given instructions to prohibit one team from winning. I'll bet you believe there was a 2nd gunman in the grassy knoll too. You've said nothing that will prevent me and millions of others from watching the Super Bowl.

I "sat out" most of the Super Bowl last year out of my intense hatred of the Eagles and Patriots.

I am not doing so again and missing out on more NFL history. If something amazing or controversial happens I want to see it.

first of all. don't watch if you don't like it.

second, its not gooddell but its the owners. Gooddell is the owners puppet. his powers are controlled by the owners. he doesn't make any decisions on his own without some owner's hand up his you know what. I know as a saints fan you are upset. it wasn't game fixing. the ref had a brain farrt, it happens. its unfortunate and competition committee makes decisions on what type of calls are reviewable. so your hatred of Gooddell is unwarranted. you should hate the owners, the competition committee that makes these type of decisions.

so again, if you don't like it. don't watch. stop watching next year. and the year after. give up football and go watch rugby. I am watching. my cowboys got screwed the same way, with the idiotic call in GB. I got upset. I still watched the superbowl. its not life or death. so don't take yourself so seriously. its entertainment!!!

I LOVE FOOTBAL

1. Dez did catch it. No, I'm not over it.
2. Deion's PI was just as blatant as Robey-Coleman's. No, I'm not over it.
3. There's nothing new here, so move on.
Ha, good call on #2...somehow that one is always forgotten about.
