I have a feeling that ESPN told him they were gonna fire him and to save face he said I'll just say I want to play football again. In August he will officially retire. I just got a feeling this is all about ESPN and Witten not looking like fools. Cowboys probably did a favor for Witt. I'd be surprised to see him play next season. He was done 2 years ago.

It sounds like we'll be paying quite a bit for those this year, between Sean Lee and now Witten.

And I'm sure we wouldn't want to "hurt feelings" by not paying Witten a pretty penny...
