How would you rank the biggest needs?

I keep seeing safety, and maybe I don't remember all the times we got shredded deep. I understand the lack of making plays, but that's on on corners as well.

I would go
1a) DT
1b) DE
.
.
.
.
3) Tackle (right or left - we can't keep paying this offense crazy money at every position)
4) Safety (of course would prefer a playmaker)
5) LB (I have a feeling Jaylon is going to want a truckload of money)

I assume if you don't sign Beasley (I would have given Witten's money to him), then you can alway put Cooper in the slot when needed. I don't understand bringing Hurns back...don't see how he's more valuable than Beasley.

This is also assuming they are going to go all in on Dak - my biggest concern with him is I believe your QB should make players around you better and I don't know that he does that.

Definitely RB, WR, LB.

1. DLine in general. I would go DT higher than DE as Collins usually breaks his foot at some point during the season.
3. Safety. Woods still has some upside, but Heath is tapped out. Get another guy or two for some real competition.
4. OT. Get one to groom behind Collins.

  1. DL (I'm not differentiating between end and tackle at this point because, like OP said, it would be 1A and 1B)
  2. SEAM - What i mean is someone who can attack the seam. Witten may help solution that, but Beasley walking and old Witten don't make me feel like we're going to challenge the middle of the field more effectively than we did in 2018. And that's an issue. So either TE needs to perform better or we need to find a slot player who can replace Beasley. Or someone has to play outside better and allow Amari Cooper to work the slot.
  3. OL - Tackle or Guard, same as DL I'm not going to differentiate because we're two injuries away from this line being as bad or worse than last year.
  4. Safety - Woods is a nice player, but Heath would be a great Backup and a deep safety can change the way you play defense if you trust them.
  5. LB - Great starters, but not many teams get 16 games out of their top two LBers. we need a plan for when, not if, Smith and LVE go down.
  6. K - Nice to have a cheap guy who hits a lot of kicks, but i miss feeling comfortable with my kicker.
  7. RB - Same as LB - need a plan for a few games without Zeke.
  8. WR - Gallup is looking good and Cedrick Wilson (?) will come off IR, but we need to survive if Amari goes down a few games.

I am flummoxed how RB is a higher priority or need than S. Or DE now.

1 DT ( I assume we have something at DE in Armstrong)

2 Safety (I really don't see ET taking it for THIS team)

3 DE (I assume we don't have enough in Armstrong or Taco)

4 Slot WR when Beasley gets a new shiny deal elsewhere

5 Place Kicker I like my kickers to be accurate from 45 yards in

The order isn't important, just some combination of the top 4 with a place kicker somewhere along the way ;)

It's hard to tell at this point because FA hasn't begun, but I'd say at this very point in time:

1. DL, preferably a dominant, run-stopping guy on the inside or another speedy edge rusher.
2. A ball hawking S who can play center field, assuming we don't make a run for ET. If we do pick up Earl, I'd shift this to #4.
3. A tackle or interior OL that we can develop under Colombo.
4. More speed at receiver. This is the one I'm watching the most carefully.
5. LB depth
6. RB depth
7. I'd prefer to bring in a veteran kicker like Robbie Gould, who has been doing some of the best kicking of his life over in SF.

I'd say

-DE
-Safety, because Heath is horrible
-DT, because I actually like the guys we have
-Tackle, because La'El is probably not going to be here next year and Tyron isn't getting younger nor healthier.
-WR, because Beasley is going to be gone, Hurns is no guarantee to be healthy, and that leaves us with literally zero talent in the slot. Slot receiver might be the most replaceable position in football, but right now we don't even have a JAG there.

My dumpster-dive wish list is for some bodies at LB, a backup RB, and a height-weight-speed corner for Richard to work on. It'd be nice to fill those holes, but I wouldn't be willing to pay any higher than a $3 million annual contract or a 4th round pick to do it.

DE and DT. Gregory saw too it that DE once again will be a position that will need to be addressed.

For some reason, our fan says it's DT EVERY year and every year, Stephen and Jerry disagree (lol)

BTW... we STILL don't have a starting TE. Witten signing doesn't change that.....
do you think stephen and jerry don't agree the dt is important, or there just hasn't been anyone available, either thru free agency or the draft when we pick to fill the position. we certainly bring in lots of guys to try at the position. we drafted Collins, got woods, brought in jihad last year as well as a couple of others. I think they get the point. there just hasn't been anyone available. true run stuffing dt's are as rare as franchise qb's and #1 wr's.
