If 6 of those guys can make the teams that’s a solid class

Id like to thank whoever bumped the LVE draft day thread.

I hope some of the negative know it alls got the hint to slow your roll.

Im not feeling thrilled with this draft, but our average had been pretty damn good the last few years. Hopefully we yield similar results.

Grade B subject to change but without 1 an picking very late in all rounds, this was not bad draft.Lets let it play out and see who rises past their grade..

Its a different metric this year, our roster has a lot more depth than the past. Guys like Jourdan Lewis and Cameron Fleming are a good example of that. Sean Lee has been to two Pro Bowls and won't even be starting.

I think the first four make the team, with the rest either surprising or going to the Practice Squad. We could get another Anthony Brown surprise out of the later picks, but if we don't its not going to have a big impact on our depth this year.

It's one of those drafts that you start off going - meh. Alright, not terrible, just alright.
The longer I stew on it, I find myself going - sneaky good, not great, just good.
So right now, I give it a C+.
No first round pick, be ause they blew it last year with their "WR by commity" bullcrap. Got really lucky with getting Cooper, but it cost them big.
I have been a get a talented DT for years guy, so I'm not gonna ding them for finally doing that, even if it's a bit early. Understand the pick at # 90, but - meh, OK BPA.
Covered themselves pretty well for the rest of the draft and FA looks promising.
BUT, they only get a C+ because they left a gaping hole at Safety. Don't care how they spin it, how smart they think they have covered themselves. Their biggest draft need went begging. I trust Will McClay, but damm. Safety is the new DT.

I am not thrilled with it, nor totally disappointed either. But I do like day 3 this year more than day 3 last year.
We can end up with some depth, ST's types, in the return game. A very good rotational guy in Hill, possibly starter / impact player.
Maybe the CB and S emerge in a year or 2, or 3. Was not thrilled with the 2 DE's, as I do not think they were needed.

This team for some reason like to draft project DE's in the 5th round, then say how he was a value pick as he was not in the right scheme. Only to be released 2 years later.

Maybe we should bump the taco pick thread to see who was correct if we are going to be cherry picking reactions....

When will we ever learn. We cry S every year and it doesn't happen. One of two things must happen to change it. One, we stop crying S or two the FO starts too put more credence in the S cry. Guess which one I choose then guess which one I'm betting on

Like all of them, too early to tell but I like a couple of aspects of this draft. I like the upside of Hill with an attitude adjustment and the fact that Marinelli already knows him and the root of that attitude issue. He wanted him and that speaks volumes to me. You might not like Marinelli as the DC but he's a man first, player second coach and his players respect that. I think Rod may be just what Hill needs. Spare the Rod and spoil the DT.

Went in needing a solid backup for Elliott and got that with Weber and needing a ST return man because that "it's all 3 elements of a team" has been lip service and that's one the real strong suits of that guy in NE, he lives that. Plus I like the idea of the extras Pollard brings and the possibilities with Moore using him. If Linehan was still there, I wouldn't care but this intrigues me with Moore.

Don't know how you approached this draft but I wasn't excited because I do not think it was a loaded draft and we're not in a rebuild so if half of these guys stick, I'll be fine with that and surprised.

But one thing remains, as it always does. With the absence of the known, the unknown allows us to temporarily fill that in and believe what we want. So what if you think this was a good draft and you feel good about some of these players, what's the worse than can happen? If the naysayers are right, they won't be any happier than you are because told ya so's don't fly around here.

How far do you want to go back to see how wrong some were to be overreacting about a draft? Last year with Vander Esch? Jaylon Smith? Yosemite? Taking a RB with the 4th pick?

Hell, no one knows and until they do you can be in the know and know exactly what you want to know, know what I mean?
