Doubt this would ever happen. Lael has underachieved tremendously, but he is Daks best friend in the team it seems.

So, Williams and Fleming would battle it out at right tackle and McGovern and Su'a-Filo at left guard? It's a bit shaky, but I could live with that because I think Collins is at best a decent starting right tackle, but at this point, I don't think he's going to become a great one. It's not like we would be replacing an All-Pro, which may be why the Raiders wouldn't be willing to trade Joseph for him.

I don't know why bloggers fixate on imaginary trade scenarios that Dallas quite simply does not perform as a common method of player acquisition.

As far as imaginary trade scenarios, I would not hate this one, especially if the plan is to let La'el walk next year.

The Broncos also need OL help so if I was going to make an imaginary trade, I'd send Collins to Denver for Justin Simmons. The Broncos have 3 talented, young safeties, and like Collins, Simmons is in the last year of his deal.

Side note...the Broncos starting center's name is Connor McGovern, a 6'4" 306 lb. lineman from Missouri. Different than our 6'5" 330 lb. Connor McGovern from Penn State.
Theirs was a 2016 5th round pick and ours is a 2019 3rd round pick.

I have zero trust in Connor Williams to be a starting tackle in this league.

Nobody hates Jeff Heath. They are annoyed that the team doesn't replace a below average safety. It's like when Scandrick and Barry church were here. Same thing.

No way they trade an OL for a Safety, ever. OL is worth a ton more in the eyes of the Cowboy FO. Besides, Stephen has spoken on the safety issue. They love them guys they have.

Don't get the love of Karl Joseph, 2018 stats about the same as Jeff Heath, if not worse.

If we're looking to upgrade at the Safety position Karl Joseph isn't the answer

He only played like 15% of the snaps, heath played 94%.

I have just about as much trust either way. His core strength is going to be the issue with him, not his feet.

Collins for Joseph and a 3rd would be nice.......I'd start off asking for Joseph and a 2nd to get their thinking up....then settle for Joseph and a 3rd.

LC is off the table in a Joseph trade unless OAK add a 3rd-4th rounder.

Straight up a mid-round pick should be adequate compensation for Joseph. Have to ask what would Joseph bring OAK as a compensation pick?...a 5th (at best)...a 6th or 7th? Karl won't get any playing time to improve his value on the market if he stays, so DAL should already be in touch and pushing a 5th rounder.

And if you are one that buys into a bit of what PFF does.............

Joseph was their 23rd rated S. Heath was their 81st rated S. Iloka had no rank.

Iloka didn't have enough snaps to get a rank but if you took his grade it was the exact same as X woods a 68. Which placed them right in the middle of the pack.

Still about 20 places better than heath

Negative not La’el. Maybe a 4-5th rounder. La’el is too much when Joseph is in a contract year to. He’s not as good yet as La’el at his position

The other Collins (maliek) is in the last year of His contract, Our free agent signings and Hill's drafting might make Him expendable, the Raiders are thin on the DL, it could be an alternative to trading LC if Oakland prefers DL help.

Yeh but then we have to have a rookie O lineman try to start at G again. Either way it doesn't bother me. But if we keep La'el and he balls this year we can let him walk and possibly get a 3rd round comp pick. Or he's meh and we get a 5th round comp. Either way better to keep the depth at O line for 1 year.

IMO, depth is paramount at this point in the year. Still have OTAs and TC to come, not to mention the year. Lee torn his knee is the first OTA and we were in a bind thereafter. The Raiders' Isaiah Crowell just blew his knee. There is no way to know what will happen, but keeping Collins makes way more sense than trading him.
