What new HC will take the job next January with this much dead money over 5 years?
No matter what I think about him being QB Dak's going to get 30 per possibly more and if there's a new coach I doubt it. They are going to be all in on Dak.

If his market value is 30m then we should trade him for 2-3 first round picks. Anyone got John Elways phone number?

Jerry and Son are all in on Dak. It's not going to happen.

Prescott's agent is going to want the same money or better but it is still all about the guarantee money. Check the numbers on Wentz, cap hit this year is some $8mm, next year $22mm and so forth. It is really a six (6) year deal as he is going into his 4th year and Philly would have took the 5th year option on him.

For Dak, probably means a 5 year deal at around $158mm then add in this year at $720k, you really have $26mm avg per year. Probably $110mm in guarantees but betting the cap hit in the first 3 years not more than $22mm per year if that. Bonus money out of that $110mm will be a split something like $50mm initial and then around bonus in 2 yr for say $20 million (this is how to spread the bonus over all six years instead of 5). And probably first 3 years of salary guaranteed, say $40mm, so really going into 2022, Dallas could walk away but with a $40mm cap hit.

Remember though, lots is going to change with the new CBA especially with the TV contracts going up and up, gambling money likely to even be more than the TV contracts, and other moneys. Also, betting Mahomes contract will easily exceed $40mm avg a year with his extension next year. Like it or not, it is the NFL we now live in.

Dak will probably get somewhere around 5 years/$160 million with $100 mil guaranteed.

Btw- for all the anti-Dakers who say the team should wait until his current deal plays out, at the end of this season, the roughly $32 mil per season QB market may look like a bargain.

Wince didn't win it. Foles did.
wentz had the team as the 1st over all team until his injury. among the best in the league and he was an MVP candidate, but for fans arguments, they always point to Foles…. Simms didn't play in the first Giants Superbowl, Hostetler won it. no one will mistake who got the giants there....

I already laid it out in the other thread. The math is now easy. If both side were honest and ready to deal, it should be done by tonight.

$25.8 million x 5 = $129 million
$25.8 million -$2 million = $23.8 million
$129 million + $23.8 million = $152.8 million

So announce a 5 year $152.8 million extension which makes it a total of 6 years for $154.8 million which gives you an average of $25.8 million per year. The average for the new money over the New 5 years is $30.56 million which is close enough. He will be getting more new money this year because his current salary is so low. Structure it anyway you want but it better not surpass that in average per year. I don’t like it. I think it’s way too much for Dak at this point with what he has shown so far but it is what it is and there’s no other way around it except to let him go or franchise him which I think is unlikely because the team
