Hope so. I'm actually more concerned about having a better Dak than how rich he gets. I want the Cowboys to become a legitimate force in the NFL and having a legit quarterback goes a long way in making that happen, if Dak's the guy I'm okay with the cost of doing business. The losses are still going to hurt no matter how much he's paid

That’s subjective. You can’t speak on a players ceiling at 25 or 26. Jay Cutler’s ceiling was higher than anyone’s but that didn’t mean a thing.

Dak deserves to get paid but he doesnt deserve to get top 5 money because he isnt a top 5 talent.

Because if they sign him now, they can spread the contract out over an extra year (this year) and reduce the annual salary cap hit over the life of the contract. They’re not going to franchise him as that will be a huge salary cap hit. There’s a reason they are negotiating now. Since they countered with 34 million I expect a contract announcement soon for around 32 million. Spread out over the life of the contract the annual hit will be much less.
