zzzzzzzzzzz...........fam, your backpedal game is so strong, you should be playing corner

His quote: Marinelli has treated him as a quality rotational guy, not a standout or a set in stone starter. Crawford has been shuffled between DT and DE as needed, and meanwhile the team has drafted both DTs and DEs and clung too long to David Irving to fill those spots.

I took @OmerV 's meaning to be that he rotated between DE and DT, not that he was a non-starting rotational player.

A guy that goes back and forth between DE and DT every year is not what I would call a set in stone starter regardless of whether he started all the games he played.

Nor is one that very possibly would not be starting if Irving, Gregory and Taco had worked out, and that is at positions where the team has used it's top draft pick the last couple of years.

IMO, Rod earns his Scrub Whisperer reputation, but got pantsed by opposing coaches in our last 2 playoff losses. I don't think our front 7 magically transformed into bums against LA. Our DC got outcoached in the playoffs. Again.
I agree. Our Offensive coaches got out coached too!
IF our young coaches, on offense and defense come through, and Garrett and Marinelli do their jobs this team can be SPECIAL!! Yes I said it! Super Bowl Special!

You said the other poster had to look at stats to know.

It appears you had to look at stats also...

It was 7 at DE and 8 at DT.
That means nothing to me which position he started. He started every game. I never said he didn't start. Omer did. Either way marinelli still sucks.

Except I didn't say that. You just prefer to read like that because it allows you to fabricate an argument.

Which, again, is what led to this discussion anyway … you ignoring things Marinelli actually has said and turning them into something different in order to fabricate an argument.

Garrett is always a liability with game management. As long as he's HC, I don't see a championship in our future.

I prefer he be gone, said that a few years ago, as I said it about Garrett also. But they are here, and are the coaches, so I still pull for them and success.
I don't think Marinelli totally sucks, but his schemes are outdated, as Landry's became outdated.

I don't think the combination of his sound teaching and Richard's tweaks are a bad thing. It didn't work out for us against the Rams, and even though we had some injuries that hurt what we wanted to do, not adjusting to what the Rams were doing is on them. They got outcoached.
