I would rather have mike alstott leading earl campbell through the hole than face Barry Sanders

Atleast I know where mike and earl are and can get a hand on them

Barry on the other hand would juke you out of your underpants and the last thing I need the world to see is my underpants on the field

Mike Alstott was a boulder with legs.

All I know is that I agree with the poster that said Emmitt is the Rodney Dangerfield of the all-time great backs.

God knows i love Emmitt and he deserves to be called the greatest because he owns the record but i think Barry Sanders and even Jim Brown for that matter were greater or better (choose the word you like more) than Emmitt. But no matter how you rate them they are and should be the top 3 on anybody's list. Jim Brown retired after 9 seasons at age 29 with 12312 yards and at the top of his game coming off a season with 1544 yards, he never missed a game and keep this in mind his 1st 4 seasons they only played 12 games a year and his last 5 seasons they played 14 games a season. All 3 of these guys were great, durable backs, the biggest difference is one quit after 9 seasons at age 29 and the other left after 10 seasons at age 30 ( both at the top of their games when they quit) and Emmitt kept playing until he was 35-36 (at a very high level) but facts are facts

Jim Brown averaged 125 yards per game (rushing and receiving combined)
Barry Sanders averaged 119 yards per game (rushing and receiving combined)
Emmitt Smith averaged 108 yards oer game (rushing and recieving combined in his 1st 10 years) if i included his last 5 years his numbers drop and i wanted a comparison that was the same to Sanders and Brown.

All 3 were great backs but the numbers say Brown and Sanders were a little better

Jim Brown's stats per game are pretty mind-boggling.

When I see old game film of him it looks like a grown man playing against children.

Barry Sanders holds the record for the most carries for negative yards.

I was doing a search last night on Google and stumbled into this extremely rare postgame photo of Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders together. The only pics you typically find of them together are from them at Pro Bowl practices in the early 90's and one in-game pic, and now mostly post retirement pics.

This is the very first photo I have ever seen of them together on the field in their team's uniform. I just thought this was too good not to share.

I always thought Sanders would return. At least that was the word around Oklahoma when I lived there, however at least he has a legacy and isn’t on crutches!

When Barry retired, I remember a reporter saying that he actually wanted to quit right after his 2,000-yard season, but his dad talked him into playing one more year.

Go on any forum outside this one and post “Barry or Emmitt”. Or go outside in public and say “Barry orEmmit”

False only in the minds of an unbiased cowboys fan.

And this is why we get the ridicule we do for being unrealistic/unreasonable

Do you have any idea how long the Emmitt records are going to stand? They may never be broken

Whoa -- Emmitt and Barry . . . don't they make a lovely couple?
The love and affection in that photo warms me cockles!!

Seriously, though, Emmitt has always credited Barry as #1. ;)
