Donovan Wilson

A rookie making an INT in his first live game action is a promising start. Richard is a great coach and safety play is one of the weak spots on this team. If he is able to develop and make plays consistently, he could find himself a role relatively quickly on this roster.

I havent heard much one way or the other about his training camp. In the game he had an interception and a tackle.

Now his interception was on a ball that shouldn't have been thrown, and those kinds of gimmies are rare in regular or post season. It's still nice to see a defender grab one though because we miss a lot of gimmies.

Has anyone taken a close look at this guy's snaps? I only watched the broadcast and it's hard to track the DBs on there.

Gimmie INTs ? what I saw was a safety that was discipline to know how to stay in position in front of the play, and then jump the route in front of the receiver. to make a play on the ball.. and have the hands to come with the INT.

I don’t think Frazier would have never did that. Much less know how to do that. You want to see your draftees making plays when the opportunity presents itself.

I still get freakin’ disappointed when I see freakin’ Jamiel Showers - who again has no chance at all of making the 53 roster but yet he’s in da freakin’ game, getting the valuable reps and play time that other legit safety candidates really need to get instead, to better their chances of making the roster.

Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters were probably the best tandem of safeties the Cowboys have ever had, and neither of them had blazing speed.

He’s definitely a good enough athlete to play the SS spot.

He also helped line up that A&M secondary and is a pretty smart guy.

He's more of a straight-line athlete, I think. Combine that with good awareness and play recognition, he - theoretically - could make a lot of plays in the box. What he won't be able to do is lineup with slot receivers.

Sure he played with one of the best back 7's ever (other than the 2nd CB which was always a weak spot) but despite his relative lack of speed and agility he was always there to blow up the tight end, make the critical tackle, or be in the right zone to catch or deflect a pass... sort of like a certain 82 on our team

Based on what I saw the other night and the reports I have read out of training camp, both Donovan Wilson and Darian Thompson have a better chance of making the team than George Iloka and maybe Kavon Frazier.
