Umm, this doesn't seem like a good deal at all?

Wasn't he under contract for two more years? Wasn't there talk that his first year didn't count?

So all the leverage we had we gave him 35.5 million and made him the third highest paid player at his position?

So isn’t his annual salary actually less than the $12.8 million of his new extension since he has 2 years left? Don’t you add his salary for the next 2 years + the $64 million and then divide by 7 to get his new average salary? Or am I off? I may not know what I’m talking about.

One more year. After this year his contract was up but he was a rfa because of the first year

I'll take him at 12.8 over Mosely at 17

People in here are clueless on what a home town discount is...a home town discount is taking a few million per year less than you would normally get...it's not an 80% discount..

5 years, $13M a season, half guaranteed. In a market where CJ Mosley just got $17M and Deion Jones just got $14M, I think that's a great deal for us.

Not going to lie - I was not in favor of it. And, I'm a big Notre Dame homer, and love the kid. I didn't think the risk was worth it.

I'm glad that his work ethic and desire are such that he is even in a position to get this type of deal. It couldn't happen to a better kid.
