One thing I will say he’s not doing what Melvin Gordon is. He said trade him. Zeke def wants to be a cowboy but paid well. Gordon don’t care

Gordon is doing what everyone else has done, Elliot is acting as if he is bigger than the rest of the league demanding for a new contract a year early. If anyone is saying they don't care about their team it's Elliot, his bs semantics are meaningless.

No, that's not in his mind. This is ego driven - "highest paid RB". Otherwise he would have signed the latest offer. This is just a pride thing now - not about a couple million or anything like that.

He is getting bad advice!

Yes, there’s that to but it’s his current very low salary plus the CBA saying rookie deals can be renegotiated after three years that are the biggest reasons for him holding out. Of course, once he decided the risk was too great to play for such a low salary and that he would holdout demanding a new deal, he and his agent decided he should be the highest paid RB and that’s what they would ask for.

I won't yell plagiarism, but it did sound a bit like the comments made by Jaylon smith shortly before his deal was completed. now zeke sees all the love Jaylon's getting from fans and front office and teammates, not to mention his cryotherapy deal and perhaps, just maybe, a little light went on in zeke's head. if I was his speech writer, i'd have told him to eliminate the references to emmitt.

So is he going to sit for the next two years waiting for a new and better contract? Wonder which teams would take him up on such a contract after two years of sitting. Any takers?

for the zillionith time, we understand why he wants to be paid while he is still in good health. However, the offers that have been made will pay him well and protect him by guaranteeing a significant portion. Holding out for more suggests lesser motives are in play.
X a zillion.

The offer on the table is more than legit. Sign, and he's a millionaire for life. He doesn't need more millions, what's on the table makes him a very very rich young man.

All the stuff he's saying is being severely undermined by his actions.

As he and any other player should.
Disagree. Players should make sure they are well paid and taken care of for the rest of their lives. The contract offered does that and more. Holding out at this point is petty and greedy!!!!

Okay another thing... just my $.02, but is it time to do away with these standard rookie contracts that rookies have no choice but to accept? I agree with the standard wage, but how about we let rookies sign a shorter contract if they feel they will out perform that contract and want to get paid while they are still in their youth. Or something like that. It is somewhat dumb that we mandate these standardized contracts then get upset when players don't honor them.

Exactly...and even if he does get signed to the highest contract for an RB,,,how long does it even last until the next guy gets more...Barkley in two years or less..Melvin...Such ego ...If it were me..I would tell him take it or it's time to trade him...send him to some crappy team with no oline ...Let him have his big contract as he gets pummeled on a weekly basis.

Sadly, that's what Zeke is all about. $$$$$$ He's letting every team know that he's willing to leave the Cowboys if someone else is willing to pay him ridiculous record breaking top pay in the history of all running backs.

I say Jerry should start looking for teams interested in trading for Zeke.

Interview is from July. I think a lot of people missed that post.

Then be reasonable on your contract, ask for a 7 year deal. That would wrap you up for most of your career.

You know signing bonus' only prorate for 5 years, right? So signing him to a 7 year deal would actually be horrible for us. We'd have to offer a larger signing bonus to make up for it, probably have to push money into years 6 and 7 to offset those costs. And then guess what he's going to do either before the 5th season or after? Take a guess...
