Third-round pick Connor McGovern suffered a setback in his recovery from a partially torn pectoral muscle, putting his status for the season in jeopardy, according to sources. McGovern took part in only two training-camp practices after suffering the injury during the offseason program. It’s not clear whether McGovern would need surgery or attempt to rehab the injury again. He could be placed on injured reserve at Saturday’s final cuts or placed on IR a day later, which would allow him to return later in the season.

He may be the guy we bring back from IR this year - particularly if we lose some depth along the line.

I had low expectations for him this year. Doesn’t look like he will meet them. Hopefully a good long term pick but he will need a year or two of practice and coaching.

It's a numbers game this year especially - red shirt no doubt. Get bigger and stronger - starting LG next year. Williams kicking out to RT to replace Collins.

Not good especially with that injury. He could be valuable depth during the latter part of the season, but how good could he be then missing so many reps now?

Wonder how long a "set back" is gonna cost McGovern?

I bet they end up holding him at the 53 cuts then designating him on IR to return. He has been sitting for three months and still has not healed.

The way we are with our guard depth, I would as soon just redshirt him completely.

of course that assumes we redshirt him

You can check my whole record(here,FB, Twitter) but I usually give all players the benefit of the doubt and really don't criticize drafte picks until they are cut, but I have silently been against this pick from the jump. The Force Told Me This
