I thought McGovern had a good shot at starting because he looks like the traditional mauler at guard that you want.

We'll probably have to check back next year because this season looks lost.

I didn't expect this guy to play this year anyways. I am not sure why you draft a guard when 4 out of 5 players on your OL were drafted in the first or second round

And you think you're right because he got hurt his rookie year?

Did you have Michael Irvin pegged as a fraud too?
Naw never said I was right, please take this blunt, inhale and calm down. Not here to start a fight Gangs Of America. I'm just saying for the record I am a very positive guy, I'm a Corporate Thug to quote Jay Z. I always go along with every decision management makes until it affects my check and Cowboys management does not affect my check so I go along with them. I don't express any displeasures in our personnel or picks on any social media. That one guy just has never sat right with me.

Yeah he was the rookie I was most looking forward to see.

But this was before I realized what an amazing talent Tony Pollard is.

I hope Pollard looks as good once real games start, but he definitely has my attention for now.

This stinks, but I thought the McGovern pick was more about 2020 anyway. Let him get healthy, let him add some power and bulk, and he could be in the starting mix next summer.

I always thought he should not have practiced at all and started the season on PUP. That would have given him enough time to recover and then be able to play around week 8. The injury was too bad because I was looking forward to seeing what he could do this year.

Just IR him now. He was not going to contribute anyway. Why would they expose another player to waivers to get him to the IR to return list.
When he still missed all of the off season stuff except a few practices. So they think after 8 more weeks he can come in and play.

Just straight to IR. But then again we know how this team works with these type of decisions. They backfire a good part of the time.

Third-round pick Connor McGovern suffered a setback in his recovery from a partially torn pectoral muscle, putting his status for the season in jeopardy, according to sources. McGovern took part in only two training-camp practices after suffering the injury during the offseason program. It’s not clear whether McGovern would need surgery or attempt to rehab the injury again. He could be placed on injured reserve at Saturday’s final cuts or placed on IR a day later, which would allow him to return later in the season.

He wasn't needed this year anyway. Be ready for all the off season stuff next year!

Because you let Collins walk, kick Williams to tackle and plug this kid in.

Doesn’t change anything in my mind.

I was hopeful he would be a decent backup after he was drafted, but after I heard ab the pec injury I figured he would get stashed for next season. That injury, exp for Lineman, usually is season ending. They can’t push/pull and it neutralizes their strength. Considering the volatile health of our starters, they’ll IR him with hopes to return later in the season. It’s not a bad move. The down side is he won’t be able to practice either. But at least he can attempt to get healthy and stronger in the mean time.

Let’s all be honest though.. Conner wasn’t expected to be there when Dallas drafted him, as he was thought to be a mid-2nd Rd talent, possibly even graded higher than Tristen Hill. That said, he was immediately considered a 2020 starter to replace whom ever we lose to FA after this season. He’s listed as a Guard, I feel we prob would have traded/cut Sua’Filo had Conner shown up and played well this preseason. Sua’Filo has been playing relatively well..My point, yeah it sucks, but we have depth. Offensive Tackle is another story.

I had low expectations for him this year. Doesn’t look like he will meet them. Hopefully a good long term pick but he will need a year or two of practice and coaching.
I think he is better than most rookie olinemen that enters the league and he could probably start for most teams if he was healthy. He already has the size, strength , and technique needed. I hate the kid got hurt, but I think he was a great pick considering his draft position. He should be a very good player for years to come.
