Maliek Collins at 7-8 million per year for 5 years would be a great signature right now. OLine and Front 7 on Defense are more important than corners and skill players tbh.

That's how things were done in the Romo era.

Pay a bunch of offensive guys and look for scraps on defense, then complain about the QB when the offense can't put up 40.

Funny, I could have sworn we just gave big contracts to our two best defensive players. I guess I dreamt that!

agreed. I'm all for paying the Oline, Dline and best 2 LBs, but not paying Zeke.

Though if we traded Amari it would have to be for a 1st because we can't just let him walk for a crappy bottom 3rd round comp pick. That's trading a 2019 1st round pick for a 2021 3rd round comp pick and no Super Bowls... horrid exchange.

Are these the same guys who said the salary cap doesn’t matter?

. Zeke has one year, an option year and a couple of franchise tags left on his deal.

Agree with most of what you said, but...

Didn't realize franchise tags are part of his or any one else's deal. Oh, wait. They aren't.

Team can use the tag, if they want, yes. But not really part of his deal.

Using your language we shouldn't resign Dak because he still has a couple of franchise tags left of his deal too.

On defense between dlaw and jaylon..... vander esche going nowhere. I think we’re ok with the front 7. Obvious there are some other guys that are priorities.

Would love to re sign Byron long term.... but it would be an interesting negotiation. He was lock down last year...... we’ll see if he can be as effective this year.

In order to keep a team together long term some guys have to sometimes be willing to take less.

In Byron’s case what is his value going to be vs what he wants is a huge question.

hopefully Maliek collins is willing to take a little less to sign right now... 6-8 million AAV.

Jerry made the pie comment on the radio this morning. He basically said, “for sure the lie is getting smaller.”

Not really, no. Their contracts won’t break the bank and, in any event, they are replaceable.

I don't see it that way. CBs like Byron are not replaceable IMO. A Safety like Woods is so replaceable that we haven't had one in Dallas in how long? Gallup is not replaceable. I guess we disagree here.

Of those guys, I would like to see Byron resigned, though I'm not going to lose sleep if we don't. With a true #1 like Cooper, #2 WRs are not difficult to find. I put very little value on the safety position. Regardless, at the end of the day, I'd much rather use likely low first round picks on safety and WR #2 prospects than trying to find a WR #1 or a quarterback.

Find a way to sign Cooper and Dak and I'm not too worried about anyone else.
You at letting the only one of the three that is the best RB in the league and his contract demands are way cheaper than the other two. He is also 75% of the offense and he is also the best rated at his position compared to the other two.

Sorry, I was making the assumption that we are resigning Elliott along with Dak and Cooper.

Oh, I understand what you are saying. I just don't agree with you.
