I don't remember Aikman's exact words, but he said something to the effect that there were games last year that he and Joe covered where guys looked open, but Dak looked hesitant to pull the trigger................but, yesterday, he saw a guy that was sure of himself and not scared to make those throws. Kellen Moore may absolutely go down as a quasi team MVP if this offense keeps looking like this, but the 1a will be Kitna - whatever he's telling Dak in his ear seems to be (at least for the preseason and yesterday) getting Dak out of his ultra-conservative way of playing.
I'm pretty sure that Garrett has been holding Dak back and had Linehan's help in doing so.

Also this is yr 4 for a guy who was a 4th rd pick and needed some time to learn the NFL game . Not all great QBs came into the league turnkey many 1st rounders needed time to develop so it stands to reason that a guy drafted as late as Dak might need a bit of time and proper coaching which I finally think he is getting.

Dak has proven patience ,determination , work ethic and some proper coaching will show development and progress . Its all in how bad you want it.

Not saying that Dak will always shine like this or that the offense will always rack up the points, but, it sure is sweet to see this offensive cut loose.

Dak shined. He had his best game as a pro last night. Jerry best not wait too long before getting that contract done. with many more games like last night the price might go up.

Lol, as if you posting on a public forum isn’t choosing to discuss. If you want to write graffiti go find a wall somewhere, but here you can expect a response. My response to this is that acknowledging a great game by a player isn’t slobbering over him, it’s just being fair minded and cognizant of reality, whereas pretending it was an ordinary expectation is evidence of a silly agenda. The difference between us is I’ll acknowledge when Dak plays well and when he doesn’t, but you’ll downplay when he plays well and exaggerate it when he doesn’t.
son, I think you may have ADHD...you said if I am being discussed in the same post with pappydog, then I must be a Dak hater...I asked who put me in that discussion with him? not me? I certainly have not responded to him or agree with him on many points.... its simple logic, not that difficult, something you cover in your 10th grade highschool class.

and slobbering like you have all summer!!! not this game...that was a reference to the past behavior...….come on son, you are better than that. I know you are. don't let your anger take over.

and the real difference between us is acknowledging, really acknowledging what Dak did in the past few years and not try and compare him to Brady, Brees or some of the all time greats....that son is slobering. fawning. drooling at the mouth.

come on, put the joint down and keep u p

I’m going to issue a partial apology here. I tried to backtrack, and while you aren’t a Dak fan, I can’t find where you say he sucks. I took another posters comment that put you in a category with PAPPYDOG and that may not have been fair. My nmistake on that.

But I hold to my comments about it being nonsense to suggest Dak’s game yesterday was just an ordinary expectation against the Giants. The Giants have defensive issues, but 405 yards, 4 TDs and a perfect QB rating are never an expectatiin, and never treated as anything less than outstanding QB play.
thank you. I appreciate the comment. I know many Dak supporters are very sensitive to anything that comes across as slight criticism of Dak. I support Dak since he is a cowboy. I have pointed to his strengths. weaknesses and where he needs to improve. I have called his work average to good to this point, but never said he didn't have the potential to be great and what he had to do is prove it. if you saw my other comments on his game today was that the improvements I wanted to see was what I saw. his mechanics are much improved and that lead to a lot more accuracy. it was good to get it in a real game, but tell-tale sign will be when he starts to feel pressure and how he does then. one step at a time.

Sure, a perfect QB rating was what you expected...

Suck it up and take being wrong like a man. Quit hiding like a wee little boy.
oh, there you go again.....there there there (pat pat pat).

I expected him to pass for at least 350 against a watered down, young inexperienced defense. which is what the giants are. unlike Dak lovers I am not enamored by passer ratings. its for the casual fans to enjoy some numbers.

OK, don't take it like a man...

If you have not pride then that's your issue.

A list of Dak's top ten games total yards wise:

1. 457 yards 3 TD 12/9/2018 Phi W

2. 417 yards 4 TD 9/8/2019 NYG W

3. 387 yards 4 TD 12/30/2018 @ NYG W

4. 345 yards 3 TD 12/10/2017 @ NYG W

5. 325 yards 3 TD 10/30/2016 Phi W

6. 319 yards 2 TD 11/13/2016 @ Pit W

7. 317 yards 3 TD 11/20/2016 Bal W

8. 315 yards 3 TD 1/15/2017 GB L

9. 307 yards 3 TD 11/22/2018 Was W

10. 306 yards 2 TD 10/21/2018 @ Was L

Theme I notice? 7/10 games are against NFC East teams (6-1 in those games too). Dak has played very well against the division. NFC East had multiple playoff teams in 2016 and 2018 and had the Super Bowl winner in 2017. Not saying to pay him 40 mil a year. But don't discount his success against the division. He is 14-5 overall.

Imagine if the game had been competitive in the second half......Dak throws for 500+ easy.

Or Linehan may go down as this year's MVP for:

  1. Not teaching Kellen Moore everything he knows.
  2. Going away.

It was awesome to watch Dak and the entire offense surgically shred an NFL defense. They set the tempo. They dictated the match-ups. They executed to perfection. This was a coming out party for Moore and Dak. The critics have been calling Dak out for years now-- and while he will always have his detractors-- he shut them all up at least for a week.

I am proud of Dak and the whole offense. It is clear they love playing together and they are taking on Dak's demeanor: Strong, confident, focused, and competitive. That is a testament to his leadership in the locker room. This is going to be a very fun group to watch for a long time.
