Should Cowboys consider resting some stars vs Dolphins

not what you asked. If were up 30 then start moving out some of the injury guys like Tyron, Martin, etc

but resting guys just because the Dolphins suck, no
It’s exactly what I asked in original post.

The title wasn’t specific.

Miami looks like they’re headed to an 0-16 season. The line opened at 16 and quickly shot to 21. Totally unheard of in the NFL.

I understand we’ll probably start everyone but if anyone is nursing an injury this would be a great time to rest them and I’d seriously consider resting our starters if the game gets out of hand early.

Didn't the Giants try that against the 49ers once? I remember a game against the Browns on Thanksgiving where the Cowboys were up 31-0 going into the 4th. Safe lead, right? The Browns scored two touchdowns quick enough for Landry to bring everyone back in. I suggest we do what the Patriots did.

Who do you want to rest? I don't mind resting some dinged up players. But nothing resembling pre season personnel.

Absolutely not. That would be taking the team lightly and an incredibly stupid idea by the coaching staff.

If we’re leading like 30-0 for example we should continue to leave our starters out there with risk for injury ?
Why??
That wasn’t the original question. To answer this particular question, I wouldn’t sit anyone until the second half and probably not until the 4th quarter.

The Dolphins have quit so consideration could be given to pulling starters earlier. There is no blanket answer as far as I’m considered.

If they are up big yes sit them. Do not go into the game resting starters. I feel like as Cowboy fans we should understand better than most how easily it is to lose to a team you're supposed to beat.

See what you're saying but there's a thin line between pitying and disrespect. Not sure I've ever seen an NFL coach or team assume a win is in the bag before the game is played. Go out and play your game until it's obvious they have no fight left.

I don't take any game for granted so I play my starters. Of course pending the results of Gallup injury should determine his status for the game and would not push it if he is not close to 100%. Outside of that Cowboys need to take care of business

We took some of our starters out last week when we were up 31-10 against the Giants.

This Miami game could be over before halftime.

And Id consider anyone who’s nursing an injury to rest completely which is probably a short list after 2 games.

In 25+ years of watching NFL, not sure I ever saw an NFL game that was considered over by half. By this I mean resting some starters the entire 2nd half based on the score.

Don’t rest anyone especially while they’re clicking. Don’t mess with the chemistry. If they get up 4 or more scores then they could sit a few people.

Think the defense needs all the work they can get.
And we'll see what the score is before penciling resting all the starters.

There's no way in hell Billy B. up in New England considers this approach. There's a reason why they've won multiple championships in the last 20 years while Dallas still hasn't managed to get beyond the 2nd round, and one of the reasons might be because they dismiss ideas like yours.

This is as close to a sure win as I can recall in Cowboys history.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guarantee a win. Lol
