If they lose 2 of these next 5 games - against no Brees and unimpressive Eagles and Packers teams - then they're just another random pretty good team. They'll be what they were last year.

So if we lose against the Eagles or Packers, pack it in coz we're not a very good team? Think about what you're saying. A loss against a damn good team ( both with QBs you've said you take over Dak in heartbeat) at mid-way mark of the season says we're just average.

We should be worried about who we play after the buy week.
There are 13 teams with a better win percentage after buy week than the Cowboys since 2003.
Cowboys win % after the buy: 10-8-0 -- 55.6% (rank 14)

Split the Eagles/Packers games, win the rest and we are 6-1. I'd take that.

Prefer 7-0, but I'm not greedy.

Defense needs to get more pressure on the QB. Right now, that's the biggest problem. Offense is humming
Packers have 9 losses the past 2 seasons. Have they been outplaying their potential the past two games?

I always figured a loss in New Orleans was probable, but with Brees on the shelf that should be a win. They obviously could still beat us, but I think we’re more than likely going to win going against a backup QB. We definitely need to beat the Buzzards and Packers since both are at home. Also, all three of those games could have homefield implications in the playoffs.

man this group forgets that NFL teams on any given Sunday can step up and beat you if the bounces and penalty's dont go your way..

homerism at its finest with the SHOULD word and say we BETTER this and Better that..smh

its WHY THEY PLAY THE GAMES...

we were 3-5 and it was all doom and gloom and all but over talk of tanking just to fire JG and now we SHOULD be 7-0 or 6-1?

the more we win the bigger targets we are and expect no team to lay down..im sure glad teams, coaches, and real NFL player dont go through their schedule looking over teams.. I remember those days where we were 1-13 3-13 6-10 and there were those games against the best teams, undefeated teams and guess what we won some of them..made our year, its all we had..

remember those teams and players are thinking the same things when they see us on their schedule..

That doesn't mean we're not a good team, but it would mean that we're pretty much what we were last year. Right now, we all hope and think this team is measurably better than last year with the added players and the newfound confidence Dak/Moore are bringing to the offense.

Losing to teams that matter would take the shine off beating up these dregs the first three weeks. Don't you agree?

We will be favored in Vegas in 15 of our 16 games this season barring a meltdown.

We should be 7-0. We are better than all these teams.

If we have any shot at the playoffs we need to be 7-1 at the bye so we can finish 10-6 or so

I font put that much stock in this squad

The issue with the Eagles is age. They have the 2nd oldest roster in the NFL, and that translates to more injuries, and longer recovery time from those injuries.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys average age is skewed by 3 players, Ladoucer (38.5 yrs), Witten (37.3 yrs), and Lee (33.2 yrs). The bottom 50 players on the roster have an average age of 25.6 years old, which ties the Cowboys for the 7th youngest team in the NFL.

Do you all remember The 1st year with Dak and Zeke when we played at the Packers. They were hyped up as the #1 Defense....guess what they are hyping them up AGAIN. Last time Zeke just ran thru them...this time Dak gonna do work. Can't Wait!!!

We SHOULD be 7-0 but I feel like we will be disappointed and end up at 5-2 I don’t think people are taking into account the affect that losing Gallup for these games will have. I don’t think we beat Green Bay especially with their defence this year and we will likely drop a game to either the Saints or Eagles. Even given the Bree’s injury the Saints are a solid team and the Eagles will likely need the win more than us and play harder at least in the first game.

Do people forget that we beat Green Bay on the road just a couple of seasons ago? Not as daunting as you think. Sure it won't be easy, but we have beaten Rodgers before.

we have the tough 5 game stretch in late November and December. So we better win as many as we can now while the schedule is easy.

New England
Buffalo
Chicago
LA rams
Philly.

No worse than 6-1, or this team isn't what we hope it is.
I don't know.

If that 1 loss happens to be the Eagles, the sky will fall like it never has before for an otherwise 6 & 1 team.
