They said he's been suspended 16 times and fined 4 million dollars over his career. Obviously that hasn't deterred his behavior. They should AT LEAST ban him for a year. That hit was dirty as hell and leaves no doubt that he was intentionally trying to hurt that player. If his team has any class at all, they'll suspend him before the NFL does...

Lowering his head like that really puts himself in danger of injuring his own neck.

Oakland Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict is facing a ban for the rest of the 2019 season for his helmet-to-helmet hit Sunday on Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Burfict was ejected in the second quarter of Sunday's 31-24 win for the Raiders. He was initially flagged for hitting Doyle in the head across the middle. But after the officials conferred, Burfict was thrown out.

Sources had told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Burfict will be suspended as soon as Monday.

Shame. If this guy played 20 years ago he'd be a HOF candidate. Love the way he plays. It's how we were taught back in the day.

No one was ever taught to put their head down and lead leave with the top of their helmet. Forget the helmet to helmet contact. That stuff happens, but lowering his head like he does is dangerous to himself. They don't teach people to tackle in that fashion.

Then you had some pretty ****** coaches. You love the way he leads with his head and intentionally tries to injure people?

Burfict had to know the NFL will watch him like a hawk. You can still nail RB/WR/TE as hard as you can, just don't aim for their head.

He went for the head.

It was the same when I was growing up as well. All this no helmet to helmet stuff is relatively new. No one used to say a peep about it.

Facts. I mean Mike Irvin got speared in the back of the neck with a helment while on the ground and I don't even think there was a penalty.
