Don't know if you can trust Clarence, he likes headlines

Yep. They would also like to upgrade at DT, grab a few 4.3 CBs who can cover, add Tyrek Hill......AND WIN OUT!

Only the last one is actually going to happen, though.

One thing to remember is there are several types of teams looking to trade.
  1. Teams building on a young kid for the future. They have time to develop him and teach him their system.
  2. Teams that have been decimated by injury and need someone to play games and make themselves competitive
  3. Teams that are looking to rid themselves of a bad fit or for salary room
  4. Teams looking for immediate upgrade for this season’s playoff push
Dallas falls into that last group, and they aren’t looking for any safety just because of ratings or name familiarity among fans. They are looking for a guy who immediately fits their scheme, not a guy who will take time to adjust to a new system or style. He must fit the scheme, proving that he can step in as an immediate upgrade. If not, might as well wait and look again in the off-season. Therefore, I’m guessing that if the Cowboys find a safety in trade, it’s unlikely fans will know much about the guy or like the move...lol.

As for Eric Berry, if they think he’d walk in off the street and be much better than Woods, then this could happen towards mid to end of Nov with the hope that he can stay healthy for a final month and the playoffs. We have cap room right now to sign a free agent to finish the year, and by then it would benefit Berry to showcase what he’s got if he wants to play somewhere next year.

Not me.

I wanted Rapp:cool:
Not me. I knew they were going to draft Trysten Hill after that combine performance. He just needs the normal time to develop. Give him 8-10 games to adjust to pro play his rookie year. Then, give him the 2 years that you should have give Taco Charlton to improve after his rookie year, and hire a new DL coach. The stars of Grumpy Old Men do not work with today's players.

Remember Trysten Hill was in Randy Shannon's dog house (The U under Jimmy Johnson) but when it was crunch time, Shannon played him with great results. If Shannon had him from his freshman year, he would have been gone by the second round of the draft. If UCF head coach Frost had him 4 full years, he would have been gone by the second round.

Very rarely rookie DL have an immediate impact out the blocks in the NFL at the DT position. NFL OL are generally bigger, older, better technique and more stronger than what the see in college.

If you are going to develop a player you must give time to develop.

I'd rather get this guy on the field with Woods.

Stephen is going to save Jamal Adams from that Ghost infested Jets team.

He just confirmed it here.

This is revisionist history at its finest. You take places like Hill at the bottom of the draft, not in the second round. He was a college backup for a reason. He looks like a UDFA, not a high-round draft pick.

I don't buy into the Stephen/safety upgrade talk either.
Had a perfect chance to sign Earl Thomas without having to give up any draft picks, and he squandered that opportunity as well.
Were we really prepared to pick Juan Thornhill if Trysten Hill were not there ?

I’m with you guys that the pick should have been Thornhill in hindsight but I’m never going to fault the team for taking a DL or OL they like as those are far more valuable positions.
