Here we are, already at the midway point of the season. The Cowboys are sitting at a disappointing 4-3. All 3 of our losses were avoidable.

The saints game we allowed a backup to beat us. There were a few bad calls that if called correctly would have given us the win.

The Packers, at home, came in and blew our doors off in the 1st half, leaving to much of a hill to climb to win that game.

The jets game, the worst of the 3, could be the reason we miss the post season all together. You don't lose to a winless team if you're a playoff team, it's that simple. In fact, that loss probably eliminated us from the wildcard spots all together imo.

The rest of the NFC has teams with pretty good records at the midway point.

NFC West has the 49ers undefeated and looking strong, the Seahawks at 6-2 and the Rams at 5-2. We play the Rams so maybe we could beat them for a wildcard spot but Seattle and SF are looking strong.

NFC North is a 2 team race. Green Bay at 6-1 and a win over us and Minnesota at 6-2.
Doubt we beat out green bay, maybe Minnesota for a wildcard spot only because we play them.

NFC South has 2 teams. The Saints at 7-1 and a win over us and the Panthers at 4-2 (they are currently getting destroyed by the 49ers 44-14) we could get a wildcard over Carolina but probably not the Saints.

NFC East, Fortunately we're undefeated in the division at 3-0. The eagles are sitting at 4-4 and 1-1 in the division. IMO the only way the Cowboys make the postseason is by winning the division outright over the eagles which is doable.

The 2nd half of our season is definitely the hardest part of our schedule.
@ Giants 2-6 still a div rival
Vikings 6-2 tough game
@ Lions 3-3-1 and playing tough
@ Patriots 7-0
Bill 5-2
@ Bears 3-4
Rams 5-2
@ Eagles 4-4
Commanders 1-7

Combined record of remaining schedule 36-30-1.

Yup, our only path is through the NFC East. That said if this team is serious we should win 10-12 games and not look back. I have little desire to limp into the playoffs and exit early. Hopefully the defense builds on last weeks performance and the offense continues to push it. As far as the coaches go......

Not nearly as hard as people thought a few weeks ago. The Giants SUCK! Please stop the divisional rivalry thing, that has some validity with certain teams and has with us vs the Giants in the past but they are that bad and we’ve dominated them for several years now. If i weren’t for a missed 20 something yard FG by TB then they would have ONE win.

Vikings will be tough, no doubt there.

Lions, meh. They’ve played some good teams close but have also struggled against poor teams. They’re definitely beatable.

Patriots. Still not convinced. They’ve had the easiest schedule in the league and have yet to even face a team with a winning record. I could easily see someone like Philthy or ourselves punching them in the mouth.

Bills. They got blown out by Philthy today, it could be a close game.

Bears are a disgrace, plain and simple. Their defense has been slipping and their offense isn’t good. We win this game.

Rams could be close but I give the edge to us.

Eagles? Who knows.

Commanders we dominate.

I can’t even predict anymore because this team lost to the freaking 0-4 Jets. Unpredictable at this point. That game will mess us up in the long run. Unless they can stay consistent and look like they did against the Iggles last Sunday night, they won’t win many of these games.

Yeah, of all the likely first round wildcard matchups, I'd want 49ers or Vikings.

49ers are playing very well but yet somehow seem unproven.

The Vikings are up and down. It seems that if you can hit Cousins in the mouth, you can shut them down. Cook is a problem and if the Vikings are hitting on all cylinders, I could see them blowing us out.

I know we just beat Seattle in this exact scenario but I don't want to go against Carroll and Russell Wilson again.

The Rams don't look as good as last year but are still scary. Plus, Wade will scheme the heck out of us.

If we win the 1st round game, I am not looking forward to @ New Orleans, @ Seattle, or @ Green Bay.

Stupid Jets loss.

Even finishing strong with let's say a 12-4 record, might still just get us the #4 seed. The damage has already been done by losing to the pack and saints, who will most likely finish 12-4 as well or possibly better.

Of course, this team reaching 12-4 is already wishful thinking. Just think wildcard from this point on folks, because the NFC is looking really tough this year...whew!

NFC doesn’t look that tough but catching the Saints and Packer does.

Fortunate to be in the NFC East

This may actually be more unfortunate for us rather than fortunate. The first team that steps foot on our field will dominate us. We are no match for the rest of the NFC this year. Why try when we know we aren’t going anywhere? We’re going to meddle in the middle once again.

All of these teams will falter at some point. Quite honestly, any team who gets in the playoffs has a shot to win it all. Right now we are leading the NFCE by one game plus the tie breaker. If we beat the Eagles again it will be hard for them to catch us. That would make us no worse than the 4th seed.

It may be hard to be the 1st or 2nd seed, but we still have more than half a season to go, so a lot can change. The loss to the Saints and the Packers hurt a lot because of tie breakers.

It would not surprise me to see the Packers come back down to earth soon. We just need to make the playoffs. I’m not afraid of any team if we just show up to play.

Not that tough?

niners 7-0
saints 7-1 (6 game win streak)
pack 6-2 (3 game win streak might be 4 after tonight)
vikes 6-2 (4 game win streak)
hawks 6-2 (3-1 in conference)
rams 5-3 (SB last year so can't count them out)
panthers 4-3 (same boat as us with Cam coming back)

Ok we'll see...

All of those teams play each other. What I’m saying is they are all heavily flawed.....

True, they will play each other and that will help us maybe get the #3 seed I guess. Record wise though, I'm seeing a lot of possible 11-5 or 12-4 finishes in that group.
