Jamal is an emotional kid. He's going to be a handful as the Jets keep losing, especially knowing they were talking out of both sides of their mouth.

The thing is they really weren't trying to trade him but when he was meeting with the Gm and said I wanna stay here yadda yadda. The GM should make it clear that even if they want to keep him there's always a price if some teams wants to pay. A 1st and 2 second round picks for a safety is pretty tempting for any non playoff team to not say ok.

The Jets gambled and lost on that. Its crazy their asking price was basically same as Ramsey. A disgruntled SS they lose some leverage now that teams know Jets have to trade him this off-season. If I were his agent I would hold out from next TC until contract extension for big $$ is in place.

If Adams said that of course he's going to backtrack now. He has to go back into the Jets locker room.
Ryan Clark had no reason to make up something like that - Texas kid would like to go back to Texas - not exactly big news.
Adams is the one with an incentive to lie, after the trade didn't happen.

The Jets got greedy and thought that Jerry would be desperate enough to give up a 1st and 2 second rounders for Adams and it didn't work out. So, as disappointed as Cowboys fans are in not getting the Jets, the Jets didn't do themselves any favors by going behind his back. The Jets would have been better off just telling the Cowboys that they weren't interested in trading Adams, if they knew that they wanted so much for him to make teams hesitate in making a trade deal with them.
