I have brought this up so many times I am probably getting irritating.

Last year, the top 6 paid QB's did not make the playoffs. QB play is very important but its waaaay overstated. At this point, I would go so far as to say the most important person in your organization is the coach. See Belichick, Bill.

Outside of that, every position matters. Dallas doesn't take safety seriously, for example, but what Minkah Fitzpatrick has done in PGH is dam impressive. He has been a big part of turning around their season.

See, even as somebody who likes Dak a lot. I can at least understand this argument.

many argument saying that paying any QB a certain% of cap is too much. I can respect. Although I don’t necessarily agree.

any argument that includes saying that Dak isn’t good. Those are just nonsense.

Disagree. Check the QB's we dealt with after Aikman retired. We were desperate to see who'd win the QB job between Chad Hutchinson & Drew Henson at one point. We lucked into Romo.

Agreed. You do have to have at least good QB play. Almost impossible to succeed with poor QB play. A team hasn’t won a super bowl with bad QB play since the 200 ravens and Bucs. Been almost 20 years. And those took all time great defenses in a different era when defenses could play more physical and violent.

I do think that he is right in the fact that “elite QB’s
Who carry teams all by themselves” are a myth.

So true, but I'll knit pick one small detail. I truly believe the Broncos team had worse QB play that season than that Bucs team. Manning and Osweiler were HORRIBLE!

that’s true. I forgot about that. Peyton was a shell of his former self that season.

Ironically, also incredibly high paid at the time.

My question was and is: Who will we get to replace him? Jones doesn't seem to be motivated enough to make a change. But if he does, who?

IMO, a good QB doesn't guarantee you success but a bad QB pretty much ensures that you are going to be in trouble.

Not sure if I worded that well. Does that make sense?
