Surprising to see so few threads today calling out the defense

I'm more pissed at Zeke Elliott and Special Teams play this morning.

We gifted them 14 points with 28 yard and 45 yard scoring drives. This game should have been a blow out.

Couldn't agree with you more. This team's problems are NOT on offense. We're moving the ball well (better than anyone in the NFL, according to the stats). We're scoring plenty of points.

Our problems are on defense.

The proportion of offense vs. defensive complaint threads on the forum somehow does not bear this out.

I swear this looks like Marinelli's defense, and Richards is the figurehead. This BBDB philosophy has been around for years, with no deception, and the same line stunts.

If this is Richards defense, then fire them both. This is no recipe to win games consistently. The front 4 is not dominant enough to not even attempt to disguise the defense....and certainly the back 7 is not good enough to not turn the game into a chess match at times.

Vanilla defense will get vanilla results.

At the risk of stating the obvious, that was a blow-out, of course, if not for the fact

At the risk of stating the obvious, that was a blow-out, of course, if not for the fact that the defense couldn't get off the field against a back-up QB and a pisspoor running game.

Maybe because the fumble and special teams contributed to the problems. Detroit's two scoring drives in the first half were 28 yards and 40 yards. The two second-half drives, though, were not good defense.

We have the #1 ranked offense in the NFL and we have a bunch of Manbabies here crying and wanting to fight over Zeke

The real reason is discussions about the defense require more actual football insight than most of these drama queens possess.

The Patriots have a subpar OLine and Brady has been playing below average the last couple of games and yet I have no faith or trust in the defense that they can step up against Brady and put pressure on him with that subpar OLine that the Patriots have. Or they will let Brady off of the hook by allowing the Patriots running backs to run all over them.

This defense never steps up in big games and when it's important for them to make a stop they can't do it. I believe in a Dak led offense but don't want to have to feel like our offense has to score every time they get the ball for us to have a chance to win big games against good teams.

The odd thing yesterday to me was that when we were up 35-21, we got aggressive, which I like. We however, forgot that the QB could run and gashed us for 30 yards.

It is always something - they just lack fundamentals ! Whether it is tackling fundamentals or knocking the ball down instead of going for the int!

Why would there be more threads to talk about the status quo? We'd rather talk about what was new and exciting in the game. Winning while Zeke being held to under 100 yards is new. And Dak balling out again is exciting.
