Why is Dak scared to run the ball?

Anyone else noticed this? He’s taking a significant less amount of daring runs this season vs. last season. I know he’s improved his passing skills, however, he’s always been known for his tangibles in running and throwing on the run. Why does he not do this anymore? Does he not like the label of being a mobile/running QB? Does he want to be a pure pocket passer? It can’t be the playcalling (for the most part) because running is an option for him on many of them. He had the option today in certain plays and even in the Vikes game and decided against it. He should’ve known that mobile QB’s are a weakness to NE, but never did he run or audible a run for himself if plays weren’t being made. Even when he does run, he hesitates to do so. I love the guy as our QB, but something isn’t right with him not wanting to run the ball anymore. Thoughts?

It's pretty obvious a certain coach  got in his ear to discourage it. Have you noticed the decrease in running since the first 3 games?
Hint - it's the same coach who did the same thing to Romo and got him scared-and-afraid-to- run - which is what got him hurt. easier to get hurt hanging in the backfield than taking off with it.,

There is no more reliable predictor of Cowboys losses than Dak not running the ball a minimum of twice in a game.

When he runs twice or more, we win 70% of those games.

When he doesn't, we lose 70% of those games.

And yet, we keep doing this... or, I mean, not doing this.

Having said that, there is no getting around it... we lost this game on special teams.

Having said that... but we may have won it in spite of the special teams miscues with Dak being a legit running threat.

You can accuse Dak of just about anything, but the friggin last thing is him being “scared” of running the ball and getting hit. Knock him for whatever but that. Let’s be real.

When’s the last time you saw Dak run the ball as an option? I’ve seen him force balls more than attempt to run them even tho he has the power and legs to do so. Not trying to knack him or anything, just saying he said hurting himself and the team more than helping with this decision.

Scared is the wrong terminology.

What word would you use? Hesitant? Reluctant? Can you provide an explanation behind this? He ran a lot in the first 3 games, and a lot in his past 3 seasons. Makes no sense for him to all of a sudden stop 1/6 through the season.

Hard to quantify without actually asking him his thought process on those plays.

It would have made a big difference today, but he only took off one freakin time!

I believe it was on the 2nd series.

JG. Same thing happened with Romo. Romo wasn't a "running" QB but he would move around much more before JG got hold of him and wanted him to be more like "Brady".
This was the dumbest thing since Romo got killed much more standing in the pocket. I think Romo stuck with this BS for a few year then said Freak it and started to move more again.
