Well I am feeling a bit foolish now, I didn’t watch the play live. I went to the restroom during the injury timeout and saw the aftermath. So I digress. Still a rule I was unaware of.

Sorry, wasn't trying to say anything about you being a fool. Simultaneous catch is a rare rule so don't feel bad about that. I've only seen one other personally.

I was just commenting on how stupid Jaylon was, that's all.

I think a simultaneous catch should actually be ruled an incompletion. No tie goes the offense garbage, if you can’t rule who caught it, assume an incompletion.

Yes, it was. There was nothing “simultaneous” about it.

Care to reference one?
Since it's an obvious call, I really don't pay that much attention to them. If you've watched a bunch of football over the years, you've seen it.

This is not a rare ruling

And it wasn't even simultaneous to begin with

Add another one to the books of calls I’ve only seen surface against the boys.

to be clear I’m not claiming any sort or prejudice, it’s just wild how many times we fall victim to rare rulings. Jaylon had a poor game overall but he ended the half with two straight pass breakups in the endzone, and a would be Int for a td. Wild stuff

It wasn't really a simultaneous catch. The receiver caught the ball and Jaylon' s arm.

yes. Everything else is being thoroughly covered. What are you posting about?
So basically we suck in every way possible, so you decide to start a thread about how we are getting screwed by the officials.

Laughable.

I mean I’ve watched as much football as one man can, and don’t recall. You said several so I assumed it was something you specifically remembered. All good

You’re either being purposely dense, or just argumentative for no reason. I didn’t say we were screwed, in fact I made effort to specifically say we weren’t screwed, just that I’m amazed at the misfortune of calls you don’t see regularly. It appears I was incorrect though about the nature of the call and the regularity. I can’t do anything more than fess up to being wrong

Specifically? Yes and no.

It's really not a play of note.

Receiver clearly caught and was down by contact. Then Jaylon went in and ripped it out.

Be honest.

And by the way, the call is not new. Simultaneous catch goes to offense. Just like toes goes to runner in baseball.

this rule is correct. it was put in place a few years back in a controversial catch and TD in GB playoff game....simultaneous catch goes to offense. it was called correctly.

If that call went against a Cowboys receiver, I would probably lose my %^$#.

I didn’t even think it was simultaneous. Their guy had it and Jaylon used one arm on the ground to rip it. Not controversial. We did benefit from 3 missed face masks though
