Before the game, all Fox could do was talk the Cowboys up. You even heard Troy and Buck talk about the defense being "top 10." This defense has not stopped the run all year, mobile QB's have had their way all year and they cannot tackle. Our offense can be amazing at times but are far too inconsistent. We have some talent on offense but I really don't think there is any real talent on defense. In fact, I'd argue that Jeff Heath plays harder than any other defender out there. Are the Cowboys talented? Not near as talented as they think they are.

I think with a real coach, with a fresh message, who held them accountable, this team COULD BE really good. Kinda hard to know for sure anymore, though

There is some talent. All NFL teams have talent.

But I don’t expect anyone from our defense to make Pro Bowl this year.

And something they also talked about that doesn’t measure up to other top 10 defenses is lack of turnovers . And I’d add lack of sacks.

All great defenses begin up front. We haven’t caused the pressure and created havoc like we did last year.

Nope. Especially on defense. The spine of the D is particularly awful - DT-LB-S. The CBs are nothing to write home about. Quinn and Lawrence are good pass rushers, but only Lawrence is good against the run. The terrible scheme doesn't help either as pointed out by Troy in his not so subtle criticism (when he said they never disguise anything, which makes it easy - especially if you have a QB change from run to pass or vice versa based on the alignment and personnel). The D has been living off the reputation of last year's Saints game for a year now. They've not come close to that performance since with the possible exception of Philly's self-destruction earlier this year.

The OL is aging and no longer dominant. The TEs mostly suck/not being used correctly.

Aside from QB, RB, WR there's a lot of average to bad players with only a few exceptions (Zach Martin, La'el Collins, Byron Jones, Healthy LVE, D-Law).

Talent wise we should be somewhere in the top 10 of the league. We should be a legitimate playoff team

I think we have been overrated talent wise. Overrated in that we were hyped as a top tier team. Talent level isnt that good, but we should have 8 or 9 wins right now based on our roster

I was talking about this in the game day thread...

Whats crazy is that after last year most thought that it was a young up and coming D - now all 3 levels are a complete mess.

LVE and Smith did ball out last year, D law and Woods looked good - even Gregory when he played.

Back end Woods was a pleasant surprise Chido didn't suck like this year, plus Lewis and Jones were pretty steady

Now this year its a complete cluster ***** - they practically all regressed...

No need to do the offense - talent obviously there -

Now the reason why almost every one is vastly underachieving?........gotta go with the WHOLE coaching staff.

We refuse to upgrade any talent and bring in actual competition.

Juan Thornhill is there? Cool, day one starter. Nope. Let’s take the lazy DT who will be third string.

Free agency? What’s that? Kerry Hyder, Chris Covington? Really?

The draft ... we drafted backup and role players all over. Now not having a first hurts. But look at some of the guys we picked vs who was available ... we stay complacent

The team has a lot talent, but it is not a talented team. The roster is top heavy in talent with a severe drop off from the starter to the next man up. They are poorly coached, don't play complimentary football, have elementary schemes with no imagination on both sides of the ball and the special teams are among the worst in the league.

Other than that, having no full time, real GM of football operations will kill this team in the mud in perpetuity. No accountability at the top means poor results.

I know I fell asleep watching the game last night... I don't think I have ever fell asleep during a Dallas game. They just seem to make you not care, because they don't seem to.

Jaylon, who I liked... what a friggin joke last night. Like some stupid agent told him, you need to create a brand, so go out and act like a ******.

This is still the biggest cash cow franchise. They have had pretty good success in the last several years. But what type of games were the best wins? If you say dominant running game, controlled the clock, wore other team down, small passing plays off the run,,, you win.

Analysts need people to watch or listen. Can't come out and say "the Cowboys are just not as good as many other teams, which is reflected this year with the tougher schedule and worse record than last year."

This D was fundamentally flawed before the season started. They had a huge safety problem but they literally were handed a pro bowler on a platter but they drafted Hill.Rams exposed our Dts but they only brought in scrubs in the offseason.

I sure thought the team was talented coming into the year. I literally have no confidence in any one player on this team. You can't get rid of the entire team but there is no one player I would want the team to definitely keep if a decent trade came along. If they decide to move on from Cooper and/or Dak, I'm fine with that. Trade Zeke or DLaw...go for it.

As I’ve stated over and over, offense has some talent, the defense doesn’t have hardly any

I think there is some talent on this team can be special at times.

However, the coaching on this team will prevent them from reaching that level consistently.

yes, but they are not focused, neither are the coaches. I question how much film they are watching and even if they are watching are they focused. we seem to play like our brain is in a fog, step too slow in recognizing, not caring, its very obvious we are not on the same page and there are a few who are just free lancing at this point. this is a mess. everyone is either quit or in process of quitting including the head coach. didn't see one clap from him last night, just counting down the minutes and games...
