Please explain to me how it's Jerry's fault? It's the coaches job to prepare and motivate the team to play, and it's the players job to go out and execute. If you're saying that it's Jerry's fault for keeping Garrett as Head Coach, then yes, it's Jerry's fault.

Garrett simply has no fire. He's too mild mannered. I watched him give a post-game locker room talk to the team, after a win, and he started to choke up while talking about their performance. I don't want a Head Coach that gets misty-eyed after a win. I want someone that gets charged up and celebrates a win.

Garrett's body language that entire game was the message. Did the team quit on him or vice versa? Do they sense he's going through the motions? I am not excusing them, because too many do that here, but Garrett looked whipped even after that first drive. He hasn't looked happy on that sideline all season long but in CHI he was lost.

My Dad used to have a term for Garrett's comments. He called it "coach's speak." The typical canned response when a coach really has no answer to his team sucking. Garrett was out of answers years ago.
