Forbath isnt any worse than Maher.

Imagine if your boss came to you at work and says "Hey, ya know I think we can do better than your buddy Dave. We're going to bring in some potential replacements for Dave, so publicly work with them and see if we can let your pal go". You would probably do it, but it doesn't mean that you wouldn't feel uneasy about it, and maybe even awkward in your relationship with Dave (even if you knew he had to go).

For better or worse, that's the nature of sports.

Forbath is a career 85.8 percent kicker. He did have one year where he was 15 of 15 and one where he was 9 of 13 (69.2) so he seems to be a bit streaky.

Maher at his best last year made 80.6 percent of his kicks and is at 66.7 percent this year.

Forbath might not end up being much of an upgrade, but he's not likely to be worse except on the long-distance kicks since his career long is 57.

Yup, the goal before was to get only to the 30. With maher theyre like lets just get whatever yards we can after midfield and kick it

Good point. Even though the 60-plus-yard kicks by Maher have been exciting, when we've missed on those, it's put our defense in a difficult position. Even when it has been able to stop the other team's offense, our offense gets pinned back deep and soon the other team is getting another opportunity to score from midfield.
