Would you sign Dak for 5-years, $175 million?

It’s the going rate for a starting QB. Next year it will go up. He is going to be our starting QB. Everyone wanted to wait this season and see if he improve his passing game. He has. And looks to be able to able to improve more.

You mean during garbage time when the other team defense is playing "prevent defense"?
You mean when the rest of our team has quit and there is no threat of the run, they are one dimensional, pass rush can tee off, they are expecting the pass and dak almost brings them back to win?

Some of the yardage has been like that, but some fans like to exaggerate as if that explains all of the increased passing production this year. That's not the case.

And let's not forget that the opposite happened in the early games where we got out to the big leads and ran the ball in the 2nd half to run the clock.

If you do the same math with Dak it works out to $29 million cause he is only making $2 million

Dak is a pro bowl qb. And imo more likely to go to the Pro Bowl this year than Zeke.

Yes he’s a good QB. I’m sure he’ll make the pro bowl again. But $35M is the #1 QB contract currently...how can you justify a #1 contract for a QB that’s not in the top 5

Unless those qbs are available your only options are go with Dak or draft a guy and hope you don't miss. I don't trust the Cowboys to make a good evaluation there. They basically got lucky with Romo and Prescott.

Dak is easily the best free agent qb if he hits the market (unless Rivers or Brees leave). He would certainly command $32 million plus aav on the open market.

When the team is 6-7? Not at all. I'd offer Dak something like 5-years, $100 million and say take it or leave it.

He’s not worth it . He is average . Not a top 10 QB by any means . He won’t win you games or make everyone around him better . Franchise him or have him sign for 17m a year and Leave his fate to a new coach .

No. And HELL no. I don't care about his stats. I care about wins. Dak is not an elite QB. Aikman never had lofty stats. But, he won.

Ole bounce it to him Dak as horse face Shannon Sharpe calls him!!!lol. The answer is a definite no. I would franchise him and allow him to prove himself again under a new coaching staff, these idiot coaches are not using his skill set correctly in my opinion..

Dak would easily get that contract.

if Tannehill is going to get something like 3 year, 75-80 million, Dak would get 5 year 175.

it is just the nature of the position.

25 Million for Tannehill, 35 Million for Dak.

I am concerned that if Dak gets tagged, he could refuse to play until the 7th game and still get his tagged money. Then what?

most likely both getting the FT because you cant trust either.

Tannehill has had game stretches similar before in MIA only to regress similar to a Fitz, Winston and others but consistency has been the issue..Look over at Foles who seems to be a great Eagle but below AVg QB anywhere else.. you hand out big cash to the most important postion on the team and it could have long lasting negative implications..

I like Dak but his avg to below avg play against the better teams and defenses going stretches of incompletions and 3 and outs has been concerning..

a red flag , sure hes improved but 34-36 mil for a player with a red flag like that? thats what the FT was designed for...

May I ask what his Skillset are?

He has accuracy issues.
He has pocket issues.
He has poor reads downfield and needs a ton of time to decide when to throw the ball.
Leadership issues as the offense isn't motivated to score for him.
He really not a great runner looks like a fullback running with the football.

So why we gonna pay him millions,.....again I dare to ask what is his skillset?

Anyone?????

Look around I'm not the only one....that kind of money for Dak is a JOKE!
I would approach him like this; do you want to play for the Cowboys in a tax free, super endorsement market or we are going to explore your trade value before free agency. Dak and his agent are bluffing Jerry. If doesn’t want to sign, then move on. There will be QB’s that can lead this team until we groom another.

then we get a average journeymen like Case or another on the market..build the defense put the offense back on the oline and the run game while you try and grab a new QB in te draft its possible Jalen Hurts or Tua drop to late first and push a solid QB 3-4th round..who knows but ive seen a few teams with low drafted backup QBs figure out how to create wins and a new Staff will change the way we play with less talent at QB..

go see Pittsburgh, we need to rebuild the defense anyway so im betting we were going defensive draft heavy this season regardless..its time to go get a DL NT type, a Safety and figure out the CB postion.. the new DC can figure out how to use VE and JS better but im betting with a stronger middle of the DL they wont look as exposed as this season..

its going to be interesting to see how Dak reacts IF FT and a lower then expected contract is offered..beating the Rams and winning out and playing well in the playoffs could change that..

the heat is turned up

That's the problem.
