The NFL is reporting that Mike McCarthy wants Kellen Moore to stay in Dallas as the Offensive Coordinator. But Moore has reportedly also received an offer from new Washington Huskies Head Coach, Jimmy Lake, to become the offensive coordinator for Moore's home state University.

It will be interesting to see which offer Moore chooses to take. On the one hand, he could stay in Dallas, learn the West Coast offense under McCarthy, and expand his professional football resume. On the other hand, jumping to college might be a fast-track to becoming a College Head Coach.

I've flip flopped on Moore, but I think we should try to keep him. He'll actually get to learn now under a real playcaller. He showed some great things last year, and that he was outmatched by more experienced coaches. He needs time to learn. Plus, he's so young and goofy looking I seriously don't think he was a cancerous element on last year's team, so there's little downside to keeping him

is he under contract or not? if we want him most likely we can keep him unless he gets an offer for a hc job?

Moore would be stupid to go to college in the same position. He just got his foot in the door coaching in the NFL and Im sure the money is better for an assistant in the NFL.

I hate to say it but probably Joe Philben or Ben Mcadoo
thats the rumor but maybe MM throw's a curve and brings in a younger and newer to him OC.. I mean if MM calls plays I guess its not big deal if a retread like Maccadoo comes here..

wasn't his offense pretty good as an oc before he got the hc job?

Ive said before Kellen should go coach under Andy Reid and learn the WCO without the burden of playcalling. I think the gig he would have here is close to that.

I'd actually be somewhat more comfortable with KM remaining if MM had total freedom to make his own decision. It seemed to me that Jerry wanted Moore to stay and McCarthy may have gone along with it to pacify his boss. I could be mistaken on that and I hope I am. Hopefully, McCarthy actually liked what he saw on film and fully agreed that it was a fine choice. Anyway, MM at least got to pick his DC and perhaps more are to follow.

He's under contract with the Cowboys though. Unless they freely let him walk, I guess.

He was praising Kellen months ago without provocation.

It's always the young goofy one you have to keep your eyes on.
