he was part of the problem. I was hoping they would bring in all proven guys. Having moore he is going to create a situation where if things start slow or go bad the story will be about moore.

when wade was hired he brought along a young coach he liked from San Diego, Brian Stewart. By the end of 2008 anything that went wrong with the defense got attributed to him and he was a constant story and focal point and had to be fired after the 08 season.

I think the same distracting thing is going to happen with moore, especially if he calls plays.

I get part of the problem “theory”, but Kellen greatly improved this offense to the best in the league and that can’t be discounted. He is a smart mind and can get only better with more tutelage from a better offensive mind then Garrett and Linehan. Now the one area we struggled was being aggressive and that my friend would be Garrett preventing that. If you know anything about Mike, he was one of the most aggressive.

I would love to pretend that I know how good special teams coaches are around the league. But I don't.

Just going along with the tweet that he's 'one of the NFL best, though I haven't seen that actually quantified.

I'm still just happy they got rid of the last crew

Great hires so far with maybe the exception of keeping Kellen Moore, but as far as everybody else I would move in a different direction.
I thought our offensive line never really helped our running game get going. It always seemed like are running backs ran into a wall. Not a matter of talent but rather scheme. IMO

Moore had a negative effect on the running game and as Travis Frederick said last week the offense was not good situationally and that hurt the defense and ultimately the team. That is Frederick saying without saying Playcalling was a problem and affected games.

I get the feeling this whole thing has been brewing for much longer than the last couple of weeks.
Red herrings everywhere about brilliant college coaches, the mighty Hoodie, up and coming OCs and DCs of other teams, yada, yada, yada.
McCarthy sure had some key assistant picks lined up real quick.

Tomsula and retaining Kellen Moore.

We got one of the best ST coaches in the league, retained a 31 yo OC fresh off engineering the league's #1 offense, and hired a DL coach who's built 2 good lines at 2 different stops. Tough to ask for better on any of those.

I still think Nolan is a very average DC and McCarthy is Jason Garrett with better PR.

Compare McCarthys record and Garrett’s and you will think twice about your comment....

Lower or "mediocre" but that is better than bottom of the barrel.
