Look, I like the McCarthy hire. I think he’s good for this organization right now. Again, my point here was to simply show the contrast in coach introductions. Somehow that turned into being told I could take my fandom elsewhere and being asked if I needed a boo-boo kissed? Who’s really whining here?
I didnt say take it elsewhere but yes do you need your boo-boo kissed lmao:muttley::lmao2::omg::popcorn:

You made a good point. Following you all these years I totally get it. But not everyone recognizes it. I run into the same issues from some on this forum.

I think what you might haven’t expressed well enough for those who aren’t aware of your history with critique of Jerry is you kinda came off like you were surprised by how Jerry handled it. Like you expected Jerry to be more normal.

And I wouldn’t acknowledge the whining Homers.

It’s all good brother. It’s always amazing to me how expressing an opinion to some is somehow “whining” or worthy of taking your fandom elsewhere. Always makes me laugh when people literally whine about what they perceive as whining.

It’s there childish way to lower the blow or impact of your message or opinion by attempting to discredit you personally instead of arguing the subject matter.

I liked his post for comedic reasons, not in response to your OP. People here in general are impossible to please. There is ALWAYS a group freaking out. The trick is not getting caught up in it, but at the same time, keeping your head out of the sand.

I’m reminded of an old skit on SNL featuring Bob and Emily Whiner. They’re in a restaraunt ordering “...But we don’t want surf and turf! We want macaroni and cheeeeeese!...”

I was surprised they did that yesterday and not on Friday, to get closer to the playoff exposure.

I didn't watch it or any of the others because they're all the same, they all say the same things going in and 20-25% of them leave every year, although they're short this year...so far.

I am more interested in Big Mike's first pc after a loss. It's all sunshine and lollipops now and what he said yesterday isn't nearly as important as what he says to a bunch of underachieving players that got his predecessor fired.

As far as the difference in introductions, why would anyone think the Cowboys wouldn't be as much about the owner? The Cowboys are all about the owner and that will not change until the owner is changed.

To provide a counterpoint, it seems odd to me that the GM or Owner didn't take any questions on the process, etc that led them to hire Rhule.

As a fan, I like hearing what went into the decision making process.

"America's Team" hasn't won anything in a quarter of a century. I don't think most american's can remember the last time we actually won something. We are everything Stephen A. Smith accuses us of - All flash and no substance (i.e., we never win important games like a div playoff game). The great and powerful Wizard of Arkansas is just a masterful salesman capable of selling the illusion of winning. And JJ is a master of that.

Based on winning championships, the Pats are America's team. Based on fool's gold, we are America's team...
Once the Patriots stop making the playoffs they wont even be New England's team.

There were some awkward moments...Big Mike looked uncomfortable squeezed into that suit. He looks like a heart attack. Stephen laughed a little too much. Kinda like a stoner after a half dozen shots. I noticed a little more trembling in Jerry’s hands. He’s aged about 40 years in the last 25.

I wonder how much rope MM will get...

It doesn’t matter if Jerry talks while he’s introducing a new coach... we just don’t need him to talk so much during the season. That’s the problem. He can say what he wants right now.

I’m amazed how a thread that simply pointed out the contrasts between two organizations’ press conferences to introduce their new HC, is turned into telling fellow fans to stop being Cowboys fans. We’re on the same side. A healthy fan base includes differing opinions. It’s what makes a great fan forum.

As I said before, no one is trying to tell other fans how to act. As a longtime Dallas fan, I'm just tired of hearing people complain about how Jerry runs things. Like I totally get it..but it's not changing. The sooner some of you accept that, the happier you'll be haha. Jerry is Jerry. Part of being a Cowboys fan is dealing with that.

I understand your point. But here’s where I disagree- Jerry is sensitive to criticism and at times does make some changes. The fact that he finally saw that his decade long “investment” into Jason Garrett was not working then turned around and hired a bona-fide NFL HC shows he can and does change.

I accept we have a stubborn minded owner. The only thing I don’t accept about the current owner and his family sidekicks is that their formula for winning works- we have two decades of evidence to the contrary. I haven’t “accepted” that his way works. But I certainly accept he’s the man in charge.

Especially giving a college HC a 7 year 62M deal. That's going to domino the hell out of HC salaries in both the NFL and college. The college salaries are that high to keep them in college.

There were questions specifically for the Jones'. No reason they couldn't be present.

Besides it gives the media something to gripe about. You know why we’re “America’s Team”? Because we feed everyone. Journalists make a nice living dissing us, or at least dramatizing every possible detail. “...Jerry and Stephen BOTH had bowel movements today...something stinks here...”. Nick Wright from First Things First is already declaring how Dallas is NOT a contender in 2020! I kinda feel bad for the guy. What is he, 6’5”, 150 lbs.? Ugly as sin, giant honker, head shaped like one of those Ancient Alien astronauts, and you KNOW he doesn’t get chicks and was probably bullied in high school. All he has is his mouth and his forced, D level celebrity. Yeah, I know, it’s just his opinion, but there are people on this board that are better, and THEY don’t have a platform. So Nick, so adamant, why don’t you drop the mic and go for the REAL fame and fortune, as an NFL GM?

Wonder what the presser would like if we lost game one?

Idk. I don't think 10 years of mediocrity shows change. I think it shows he's as stubborn as ever. Especially consider how he handled Jason's "soft landing". I mean I like the McCarthy hire as well. But he had to change coaches eventually. He waited longer than anyone else would have to do it though.
